Bintang is a beer that shows of the Dutch influence on the region. Characterized by a hoppy bitterness, it is somewhere between a true Pilsener and light lager. Light golden colour and crystal clear. A fresh malty aroma and a frothy even lacy head. The palate is very soft with clean malt flavours that are matched by a hoppy bitter even dry finish.

Recently we had again one of our loyal Returnee Guests reaching a total of 365 nights stay at the Bali Dynasty Resort. We asked him what the reason is for his much appreciated loyalty towards the resort.

Koos Folkers from Delfzijl, The Netherlands reached the milestone. It was his 365th nights stay in the Bali Dynasty Resort! In recognition of his loyalty he received a 5 night stay voucher.

We asked him the following questions:

1. What makes you return every year to the Resort?

Bali Dynasty Resort gives me a real ‘welcome home’ feeling. The main reason for choosing this resort is the staff, they are extremely friendly and helpful. I really love the island Bali as well. Bali is one of my preferred travel destinations. I even consider moving to Bali after my retirement but that’s still a long way to go.

2. What is the best memory of your stays at Bali Dynasty Resort?

After I recovered from my sickness in 2007 I travelled to Bali again. All the staff showed their sincere concern and really spoilt me during my holiday.

3. What do you enjoy most during your stays at the resort?

I love to relax during my holiday and do what I feel like. A very positive point about the resort is that you very easy make new friends as the resort’s slogan states as well ‘Make Friends For Life’. Also what I really think is a big plus is that the hotel really listens to the guests comments and feedback. For example, when I pointed out that the new spa was great but no railing was provided at the toilet, it was followed up in a few weeks.  And that happened with lots of other recommendations by myself as well as other guests.

4. When is your next visit planned to the Bali Dynasty Resort?

I look very much forward to the next holiday which will be next year in May.

Recently the Management took some time out one Saturday for a bit of team building and what better way to soak up the island than on a cycle ride!? It really enables you to experience the real Bali off the beaten track and understand how the island is seeped in culture and tradition as you meander through unspoilt rice fields, past rivers and through unspoilt villages; a far cry from the built up southern tourist areas!

It really is a great experience! You can book your cycling tour through our Tour and Information Centre and they will advise the best tour for your fitness level! You really don't have to be fit and you can take it at your own pace!

We have opened our brand new outdoor playground .
To the north of the Kids Pool is the baby pool with its mushroom water fountain and beyond that is the new kids playground area.

The new kids play area is protected by a large shade sail and the flooring is made of cushiony rubber to prevent injuries! The area comprises kids slides, climbing frame, see saw, swings and table tennis table and much more!

Young children should be supervised by their parents when using this facility and use is entirely at your own risk.

The 36th annual Bali Arts Festival (PKB) 2014 will be held between the dates of 14 June – 12th July this year, with the Bali government having budgeted approximately Rp. 5.6 billion for the event.

The largest cultural event staged in Bali, as much as Rp. 2 billion has already been handed out to the nine districts to ensure local communities have sufficient funds to put on performances at the event.

The Arts Festival will be held for a full month at Taman Budaya Cultural Park in Denpasar, with numerous scheduled performances from morning till night every day. The theme of “Kertamasa” will underline the event, which is interpreted as ‘the dynamic of agrarian society upon the welfare of the universe’.

It is expected that Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will open the event officially

Purnama & Tilem Celebration
12 June/ 27 June

Purnama and Tilem are holy days celebrated by Hindus worldwide. Purnama or Full Moon comes every 30 days. Similarly, Tilem which means darkness, is celebrated 15 days after the full moon. Purnama is the day when the moon emits a bright light, while Tilem is also called dead-month.

On these days extra offerings are made around the family compound, as well as some offerings are placed on the ground at the entrance to the house compound. During this time, Balinese people perform prayers at the family temple, the village temple, and other temples located in villages celebrating these specials days. Worship is usually done at night, starting at 8 pm. The Balinese pray for positive energy for life.

Employee of the Month, Front of the House, is a very familiar face to you all we are sure. It's NURUL ISLAMI SUKERNI, or Nurul to her friends. One of our friendly Waitresses at Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant.
She has been with Bali Dynasty Resort since 1991. She is married and has two children. Congratulations go out to Nurul from all of us.

Supervisor of the Quarter
Congratulations go out to ILUH PUTU MARTAMI ASTUTI or better known to everyone as Marta.  You will be able to experience the professionalism of Marta at the Front Desk as Duty Manager during your stay at the resort.  Marta has one son and enjoys dancing as her hobby.

We are speechless! Again for the 3rd time this year we are able to congratulate I MADE SUPADMA from the Housekeeping Department with the Guest Nomination Award. Padma is nominated by our guests at as very helpful and friendly. Congratulations Padma, we are proud to have you as one of our staff members!
