Kicking off March with a calendar packed with events! This month begins with the Day of Silence, a significant Balinese ceremony taking place in Bali on Monday, 11th March 2024. Following closely, we'll have the biggest bash of the year on St. Patrick's Day, coinciding with Gracie Kelly's 5th Anniversary, ensuring an unforgettable day. Also, stay tuned for some exciting updates to our property coming soon.

Firstly, let's talk about the Day of Silence in Bali, on 11th March 2024. Traditionally it's a day when the Balinese fast and meditate and are not allowed to go outside of their homes. The entire island will shut down including the airport. No cars, no motorbikes, nobody selling their goods on the street and no lights should be used. If you haven’t experienced Nyepi in Bali we highly suggest it as it the most peaceful day and  you'll be treated to a night sky glittering with stars.

One day before Nyepi, you will see the Ogoh-Ogoh parade all around Bali. This parade is the biggest parade in Bali and is held once a year. Make sure to plan your journey early to secure a prime spot to experience this amazing Balinese cultural event.

Then, brace yourself for the grandest celebration – St. Patrick's Day on March 17, 2024, at Bali's original Irish pub, Gracie Kelly's. This year is extra special as we celebrate Gracie Kelly's 5th Anniversary. Enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and captivating entertainment. Mark your calendars and make your way to Gracie Kelly's for an unforgettable celebration.

To round off the month, we're hosting a special event filled with festive activities, including an Easter egg hunt, fun games, and more. This will be followed by a traditional Easter brunch.

Stay tuned for some heartwarming stories, exclusive offers, and a taste of what makes this month extraordinary by following us on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook!

Experience The Tranquility at Bali Dynasty Resort

One day before the Day of Silence, guests at Bali Dynasty have a special chance to participate in a unique ceremony. They carry the hotel's small Ogoh Ogoh (Paper Mache Statue) from the front of the hotel to the beach for a ceremonial burning of the statue.

Dressed in traditional sarongs and headbands, each guest will be equipped with a traditional Arak Attack, an instrument or a kitchen utensil to make as much noise as possible. The aim is to scare away any bad spirits. The Ogoh Ogoh is lifted high and paraded to the beach, where it will be burned in a spectacular display, met with applause from the crowd.

The Bali Dynasty staff and management join in this procession, considering the hotel cleansed of evil spirits in honor of Nyepi Day. On the Day of Silence on Monday, 11th March 2024, the Balinese observe Catur Brata Penyepian, involving the four fundamental prohibitions: Amati Karya (no work), Amati Geni (no fire, light, or electricity), Amati Lelungan (no traveling), and Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment). This creates a truly peaceful atmosphere."

The Balinese day of silence has the primary objective of purifying both human nature and the universe. Balinese believe it is a day of purification, contributing to a sense of serenity in the community

Best Place to Watch Ogoh-Ogoh (Paper Mache Statue) Parade

The day before Nyepi Day, known as Pengerupukan day, is a special time in Bali. Hindus hold a ceremony called 'Mecaru' to neutralize the negative forces in society, family, and the community.

The Ogoh-Ogoh Parade is a lively and colorful spectacle that you should not miss if you're in Bali during this period. In this write-up, we'll explore where you can catch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali this year.

The parade usually kicks off in the evening, around 6 pm, and lasts for several hours. The prime spots to witness the parade are in major towns and cities in Bali, where the most impressive statues are crafted. Here are some top places to watch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali this year:

Bali Dynasty Resort: Our resort hosts a unique Ogoh Ogoh Parade, taking guests through the lush gardens, past the main pool, and finally to the beach. Starting at the front pond at 6 pm, the procession is led by the resort's recreation team, creating a magical atmosphere with traditional Balinese instruments. Guests are welcome to join in this enchanting parade for an unforgettable evening experience.

Denpasar: The capital city of Bali is one of the best spots to catch the Ogoh Ogoh Parade. The major streets are closed to traffic, and the route is filled with food stalls and souvenir vendors. Patung Catur Muka or Catur Muka Statue near Lapangan Puputan Badung park and the Bali Museum is an ideal spot to watch the event and be part of the lively atmosphere.

Ubud: Known as Bali's cultural centre, Ubud boasts an impressive parade with numerous giant puppets carried through the streets. The Peliatan Royal Palace is the best place in Ubud to witness the Ogoh Ogoh Parade.

Kuta: As one of Bali's busiest tourist destinations, Kuta hosts a lively parade with a beachside location and vibrant crowds. Arrive at Kuta beach before 6 pm to secure the best spot to enjoy the festivities.

Sanur: Despite being a quieter town, Sanur's Ogoh Ogoh Parade is a must-see event. The parade winds through narrow streets and a four-junction road, creating a lively atmosphere. Make sure to stay hydrated by bringing a bottle of mineral water during the crowded parade.

Jimbaran: Known for its seafood restaurants, Jimbaran is also an excellent spot to witness the parade. The route along the beach's main road provides breathtaking views of the sunset during the Nyepi Day celebration.

No matter where you choose to watch the Ogoh Ogoh Parade in Bali this year, you should catch this vibrant display of colour and culture. Arrive early before 6 pm to secure a good viewing spot and remember to bring your camera to capture the magic of this unique Balinese tradition.

St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick's Day is coming closer, and this year's celebration is shaping up to be the largest and most thrilling we've ever hosted. For anyone keen on a day packed with fabulous food, drinks, and entertainment, this is the St. Patrick's Day bash you've been waiting for.

The party starts with an Irish band serenading us with tunes throughout the day. Also, keep an eye out for Gracie Kelly's very own leprechauns, who'll be popping up to add a bit of cherished to the festivities.

One of the main attractions is the day's entertainment, featuring special performances and competitions that promise heaps of fun for all who join in. If you've got a competitive streak, this is your chance to shine and maybe snag a prize.

St. Patrick's Day festivity would be complete with showing your best green outfit. There'll be prizes for the Best Costume, so wear your greenest costume and be a part of the day.

This year, St. Patrick's Day at Gracie Kelly's Irish Pub is set to be a memorable one. Whether you're there for the live music, or just to savour the food and drinks, there's something for everyone. Charity Update

Bali Children Project

‘Helping Friends for Life' is currently supporting Natallia in raising funds to help her graduate and break the chain of poverty.

Natallia, aged 18, is currently in grade 12, the final year of senior high school in Badung.

With just four months left in school as of March, she aims to graduate from senior high school this June. Natallia, the elder sister, lives with her younger sister since their parents have been absent since she was nine. Their mother left the family, and their father is rarely present, forcing the sisters to support themselves through odd jobs and community assistance.

Despite facing severe neglect and abandonment, Natallia is determined to overcome challenges. Unfortunately, she still owes about 7,030,000 IDR in school fees, preventing her from attending classes. Natallia's simple desire is to complete her education, providing her with a better future job prospect or the chance to attend tourism school.

She is keen on avoiding the path her parents took, realizing that their lack of education likely contributed to their difficult lives. Natallia hopes to graduate from senior high school and break this cycle.

We are delighted to share that, with your incredible support, we successfully raised enough funds for Made Novianti to complete her schooling and graduate in 2025 as planned.

This means balancing our basic needs with the crucial need to preserve the natural environment. A sustainable future ensures we live within our capabilities, providing a good quality of life for generations to come.

A magnificent stay where we felt totally Relaxed and reenergized. Staff are so friendly and prices affordable to stay in hotel and enjoy the surroundings. Some great improvements made and it is always our go to place with something for everybody. Great live music in the afternoon sets a fun vibe - Seaside

Treated like kings and queens at the Bali Dynasty Absolutely everything about this place was stellar The rooms, the pool, the bar and many restaurants But the real gem of this place is the amazing amazing staff - Ross P, Australia

Rooms are nice, well priced, aircon is amazing and there’s plenty to do with the kids. The slides and waterpark were a hit, service was exceptional but remember if you’re looking for a quiet part of Bali, this hotel is right in the heart of Kuta so once you walk Out of the tranquil resort you’re in the busy tourist area of Kuta. If things what you want then this is the place for you - Courthouse Hotel Bistro, Australia

Very large hotel that has lots of restaurants to eat at if you don't want to leave the hotel, 30 second walk to the beach to see amazing sunsets. Waterbomb Park is a 5-minute walk up the road. Excellent for kids (and adults) with all the activities on every day at the pool. – Michelle B

We have been staying at this hotel every year for the past 15 years and every trip is amazing. We started going with young kids and now go without them and still love it. Everything is reasonably priced and all of hotel is kept very clean. The staff could not be any friendlier. Each time we go there is improvement. This is now our 2nd home. – Linda A
