Airport renovation news
Work has already begun on the expansion of the Ngurah Rai Airport terminal and as of the beginning of September the access to the airport will be changed.
The new terminal which will be more than twice the size of the existing terminal will be constructed where the domestic terminal currently is and come back towards the North with a multi storey car park on the northern most point.
During the construction the current International terminal will be used for all flight arrivals and departures. The access gate will be to the north (current access to Patra Hotel) and the car parking and drop off point will be to the north of current international terminal on what was the golf driving range. Walkways are being constructed for guests to walk from this area to the terminal. It is anticipated that from the drop off point it is between a five and a ten minute walk to the terminal.
Passengers are advised to make sure they allow for extra time to clear the airport whilst this new construction is going on.
The new terminal will be ready in July 2013 in time for the APEC Summit which will be held in Bali at that time.

Opening its doors in 1975, the Bali Hai brewery produced under license, San Miguel and Asahi beers.
The flagship brand Bali Hai Premium beer was initially produced in Bali in answer to the growing demand for high quality premium beer.
Over the last few years the company has refined its premium beer giving you a moderate, slightly dry beer with a well rounded finish and creamy foam giving you a distinctive refreshing taste.
Many hotels and Bars are now using Bali Hai, which was recently the winner of our in house blind beer tasting survey, and is now the House beer and therefore the best value.
A perfect thirst quencher for a balmy hot Bali sun We recommend you give it a try!
'Clearer is Better program
In the month of August we had a human resources campaign entitled “Lebih Jelas Lebih Baik” which means “Clearer is better”. The objective of the campaign was for supervisors and managers to explain to all their staff members the importance of each individual job role in enabling the hotel to function and emphasising that every staff member has an important role to play in ensuring that we deliver service excellence to our guests whether they are front line or behind the scenes. Each employee were given “Key Performance Indicators” (KPIs) to enable them to go for a target in delivering excellent customer service. The KPI’s are based on data that is collected such as the guest comment cards in the rooms and the food and beverage outlets so it’s now all the more important for our guests to give their feedback on our product and services so that each staff member can be objectively assessed on their goals!
On the 17th August some of the Bali Dynasty Management team visited Pengalusan, one of the hamlets in East Bali the Bali Dynasty supports through the East Bali Poverty Project.
The occasion was the Children’s Indonesian Independence day party that they put on for all their families. There are fun sports activities between the different schools and each school presents a cabaret show.
From Sanur we headed North East towards Mount Agung on a cool crisp clear day for the one and a half hour journey.
The scenery is stunning with the mighty Mount Agung dominating the landscape. The Children had set up their sports and stage area at a dry river bed as they do each year.
We arrived just in time for the flag raising ceremony with all the children dressed in their school uniforms standing in orderly lines saluting their flag and singing their national anthem. All very formal, but very moving.
After the formalities the sports activities began with sack racing, cracker eating and a few other traditional games. Then we all moved to the stage area where we were treated to cabaret shows from the different schools.
The children have really grown in both music and dance. One cabaret sketch was about corruption, others traditional Balinese dance, which the children had to learn as they live in such a remote area.
Then a special song the children had written for the Bali Dynasty guests who have given donations, needless to say this is the part that put a tear in our eyes.
it was hard not to show our emotion, even if it was in front of everyone. A memorable moment.
Some of the Children’s art was also on display, some of the drawings were breathtaking, so much colour.
A great day, an emotional day, but to see the kids again was a delight.
You can help our Charity effort by supporting the ‘One Dollar to Check out’ program, donating your small change in our donation boxes around the resort, by joining the twice weekly Charity Quiz Nights in Gracie Kelly’s and purchasing Bali Dynasty Merchandise, of which a percentage is donated to Charity. We are still looking for a few more people to buy the chair desks to make up the complete set so let us know if you would like to buy one and have name plaque on it!
