Welcome to our April 2010 Newsletter.
Room renovations are well on schedule, and due to be completed by the last week of May.
We have recommended for some time that the current trends seem to indicate guests are taking full advantage of discounted airline prices, hence traveling more frequently, so you do actually need to book well in advance, especially if you are looking for a popular room category.
In this edition we take a look at the latest Golden Lotus promotion, our upcoming ANZAC Day Remembrance Night at Gracie Kelly’s, Mother’s day at Bali Dynasty, and a look back at some busy March events with some great pictures on our Facebook site, and all our other regular features.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the new look Bali Dynasty Resort.

Bali installs new security system
THE BALI Hotels Association (BHA), an association of over 100 star-rated hotels on the island, has partnered with the Integrated Police Radio Community Bali (IPRC) to further improve security measures at the resort destination.
IPRC is a relatively new initiative, linking the public via VHF radio to the police. The system is geared to provide reliable communications during emergencies as well as better access to regular police assistance.
The IPRC enables its members to link to the POLSEK Kuta police office around the clock to provide situation updates, assist police in anticipating problems before they arise, track suspicious persons, and exchange security and safety related information without delays throughout southern Bali.
The public private partnership initiative began last year' with initial equipment such as antennas and base stations donated by the BHA. The system is managed by IPRC, in cooperation with POLSEK Kuta.
Alcohol in Bali - The Facts!
The Government has just recently raised the excise tax on liquor, after a decision to scrap the controversial Luxury Tax on alcohol.
In layman’s terms it means prices of your favourite tipple increasing by as much as 40%
The law affects all of Indonesia, not only Bali.
Indonesian producers who applauded the move to scrap the luxury tax on their products from April 1 are now incensed over the government’s sudden decision to increase the excise tax as much as threefold.
The new excise tax rate is aimed at compensating for the expected drop in revenue from the abolition of the luxury tax on alcoholic beverages.
The Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (IHRA) has protested, asking the government to review its decision to impose high excise on alcoholic drinks.

This month’s Charity Update is one of reflection as we look back and see how the Children that the Hotel supports have developed and benefited from the donations from Bali Dynasty resort Guests.
Our Pengalusan integrated education programme currently has 67 children in the elementary and junior high school programme
Since the hotel joined the programme in March 2000, the East Bali Poverty Project has received well over Rp.2 Billion in monetary donations from the Bali Dynasty Resort for the Cegi & Pengalusan programmes making a difference to the less fortunate people there who were not directly benefiting from tourism.
This amazing contribution has changed the lives of over 200 families through the almost 200 children we have been able to educate from Cegi and Pengalusan villages.
On top of the monetary donation the Bali Dynasty Resort has made annual donations of Food & Hygiene items for all the East Bali Poverty Project Children for their annual Independence Day celebrations since 2002. And through our “Make a Difference’ programme on our website, guests have purchased study desks, chairs and other items for Pengalusan school.
The Management and Staff of Bali Dynasty Resort also visit the schools annually to give the Pengalusan and Cegi schools a brand new lick of paint, inside and out!
Our hotel guest’s kind donations have enabled us to continue to support the sustainable development of the Pengalusan community.

Tour of the Month
This month we look at Bali Tree Top Adventure Park near Bedugul.
65 Treetop challenges await the adventure seeker providing a truly memorable experience and amazing panoramic views. Challenges include a series of Ariel activities such as Flying Foxes, Rope Bridges and climbing challenges.
Each trail offers graded difficulty levels so as you progress from tree to tree the challenges increase and you progress at your own pace. Trails are for Adults and Children from ages 4 and up. The varying heights of the challenges on each trail range from 2 to 20 meters and you can experience the trail alone or as a group, or with friends or family. Throughout the entire trail you remain attached to a life-line support. Although the park uses natural resources for its challenges the park is quite environmentally friendly featuring protective half logs to prevent cables from cutting into trees and minimize tree trunk degradation and all trail platforms are held in place using an innovative compression system to protect trees from any damage.
The park offers specially trained Patrol Guides to explain how the complete circuit works, complete safety instructions and how to use the equipment.
For bookings contact our Guest Activities Center next to the hotel Lobby.

What the Guests Say!
Hi Bali Dynasty,
During our recent stay with you, we had the greatest of pleasures to catch up with 2 of your staff members whom we had not seen since our last stay with you 8 and a half years ago. Both of them presented us with the highest quality service, their every friendly smiles and great personalities.
Agus Swastika in the Golden Lotus restaurant immediately recognized us and even presented my young son Bradley (now 9 years old and whom Agus had not seen since he was 6 months old) with a gift. What a lovely gesture on Agus’s behalf. The gift is now highly treasured by our son! As we had always remembered, Agus was ever so friendly and helpful. Thank you Agus.
Sam on reception desk, well what can we say! Our young son had an ear infection just hours before we were due to fly out of Bali. Sam arranged for us to have our already late checkout extended so that the doctor could be called in and treat him. The “small” gesture, as Sam called it, was to us a great help during a rather stressful time. Thank you Sam for your assistance not only during this time but throughout our entire stay, your friendly smiley face is just the best!!
I have attached a couple of photos, it would be appreciated if you could pass these onto Agus and Sam on our behalf.
Thank you to all of the Dynasty team, again, for enabling us to have a wonderful, enjoyable holiday! Whilst your grounds and facilities are absolutely beautiful, your staff are definitely your greatest assets!! Hope to be back again soon.
Kind Regards, Renato, Michelle, Sam and Bradley.
