The Staff Service Charge

Did you know that the 10% service that is added to your bill is shared amongst the staff members every month and is a major contribution to their livelihood. It is a common system throughout Indonesia and is a great way to motivate the staff and involve them in the sales process in ensuring their guests are happy and that they will return. Each month they receive over 90% of the allocation.  It is also common practice to have a retention of the service charge (4%), a percentage of which is retained and paid out on an annual basis as a lump sum (similar to a bonus) and a percentage that is retained for loss and breakages (3%). In this way employees are made accountable for ensuring that the hotels property is looked after. Should the amount set aside be over the amount of the actual losses and breakages then this is reimbursed to the staff on an annual basis along with the retention payment. Hotels can loose many items, favourites being face cloths, towels and glassware, perhaps people dont realise that in Indonesian hotels they are reducing the income of the staff.

Final Stage of Renovations in 2010!

We are pleased to announce the go ahead of the third and final stage of our renovations which will commence in February 2010 and run through till May 31st 2010. Our superior rooms and Kids suites in the North and South Garden wings will be upgraded to Deluxe category; from which we have so much positive feedback. All rooms will feature flast screen LCD TVs with DVD player, large patio doors, and for the deluxe en-suite with rainshower (no bathtub) and for the new Kids Suites with bathtub and massage shower.  For more information Click Here

Commonwealth Bank Tennis

Tennis fans are in for a real treat with the upcoming Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions, which will take place at the Bali Convention Centre, the Westin, Nusa Dua, between the 4th and 8th November.
After two years as title sponsor of the Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic Tennis Tournament, initiated in June 2007, Commonwealth Bank has stepped up its sponsorship to the newly created COMMONWEALTH BANK TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS. This is in keeping with the launch of the revamped Sony Ericsson WTA Tour effective January 2009.
The Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions will feature top Tour players and next generation champions competing in an innovative 12 woman round robin singles format, offering $600,000 in prize money. The top 10 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour players who have won at least one International tournament during the year and who are not participating in singles at the year-end Sony Ericsson Championships will qualify for the event, along with two wild cards. The 12-woman event will feature four groups of three players in a round robin format, then a single-elimination semi-finals and final.
Italian Roberta Vinci, Serbian Jelena Jankovic and Dane Caroline Wozniacki have established themselves as contenders for the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions after beginning the clay court season with impressive victories.

Our Star Employees

Our Employee of the Month for the Front of the House this month is Made Sadar, or Sadar to his friends. Although you will find Sadar at the Bell Desk, he is a very quiet type of guy, but is known for his kindness. Sadar is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to places of interest in Bali.
He joined Bali Dynasty resort in 1994 and has 2 Children.

Our Employee of the Month for the Heart of the House is Ketut Darmawan, or more commonly known at the hotel as Darma. You will see Darma working at the Boom gate as our Security Guard.
Darma is known as Mr. Smiler, as he seems to always have a smile on his face!
Darma joined Bali Dynasty Resort in 1990 and has 3 Children.

And finally our Guest Nominee of the Month is Froggy from Recreation is one of our popular Pool Motivators. Most guests will know Froggy as a fanatical Manchester United fan. We still havent worked out why he named his daughter Chelsea? Born in Denpasar, Froggy has  2 Children and worked for Bali Dynasty Resort since 1999. Apart from English football Froggy s favourite pastime is fishing.

Congratulations to all our Winners!

What the Guests Say!

The improvements to the Breakfast are excellent, with the new system of freshly cooked eggs, and able to ask the Chef's for what ever you like is such a bonus.
As Always, Gracie Kelly's and the Sunset Bar reign Supreme, (for us anyway). you would have to have the happiest and friendliest staff in Bali. Each time we arrive since you began upgrading your facilities we wonder what it is going to be like, and each time we are blown away! The Dynasty just keeps getting better and better, and we know that when we recommend people to the Dynasty, they will come away having the best holiday they have ever had. The Renovations to the Poolside wings are just beautiful and have made such a difference both inside and out. We love our late night Mexican and Kintamani Coffees as nightcaps at Gracies before we go to bed, but sometimes you just like to sit quietly and drink a nice Coffee, so maybe the DLounge could host a Menu of Liqueur Coffees. You can't improve on excellence, and that what we think of the Dynasty, so we are so looking forward to our next Visit. Congratulations to all your Management for the wonderful job they do, and the Happy staff that work under them all.
Mrs. C. Australia

I like the outgoingness (of the staff). They always welcome you with open arms. Very very friendly.
Mrs. P, Australia

We ate at the Tropical Cafe for the themed dinners a few times and thought it was fantastic each time.
Mr. & Mrs. S, UK

We liked the idea of the guest programme in the room and hung on the mirror.
Mr. K, Singapore
