A Cultural & Fundraising Event at Bali Dynasty Resort

18 May 2016

Bali Dynasty Resort was proud to host the recent “Europe on Screen” Film Festival in Bali across a two-night cultural and fundraising event partnering with Solemen - an Indonesian not-for-profit charity. Taking place at the resort’s front garden the festivals were set up as a free open air cinema. A Dutch film “Accused” was screened during a Dutch Night on the 30th of April, while the British Night on 7th of May presented “A Royal Night Out”.

The main purpose of these events was to promote the Dutch and British culture, while raising much needed funds for Solemen. The nights were opened by the Honorary Dutch Consul, Mr Al Purwa and British Vice-Consul, Mr John Makin respectively. The Dutch Film night was also attended by Dutch scriptwriter Ms Moniek Kramer who gave an insightful presentation to the audience.

The events were received positively by the Dutch and British communities in Bali as well as from the general audience who were eager to splash out on the purchase of raffle tickets for many great prizes including tours, attractions and dining experience – all of which were donated by generous sponsors. Money was also raised from booths that were sold to Dutch/British related companies which were used to showcase/sell their products during the event. A total of approximately IDR 10million was raised.

Bali Dynasty Resort has been concerned for the past 20 years with its commitment to alleviating suffering and making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people in Bali. Having successfully raised over IDR 3 Billion for its former charity project in conjunction with the East Bali Poverty project, the resort has now turned to Solemen to support individuals in need.

In addition to the recent fundraising event, regular funds are also raised through the $2 to checkout promotion, poolside Bingo games, twice weekly Quiz Nights held in Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub and the charity boxes located around the resort.

The events were sponsored by Heineken, Manumadi Wisata, Standard Chartered, De Stroopwafel Bali, Dapur Cesco, Sunny Delights, Newspaper Direct, Ceremco, International SOS, Albens Cider, The Plumbers Arms,  Bali Adventure Tours, Bali Bird Park, Bali Quad Discovery Tours, Bali Zoo Park, Taru Bali, Taman Nusa, Waterbom Bali, Secret Garden Village, Toni & Guy Essensuals, Saachi Clothing, Biku, Bali Pearl Restaurant, Religion, Nagicia Jewellery, Jetset Gypsy, Amo Spa, Saigon Street Restaurant, Gipsy Fish, Orchard British Restaurant, Dare2Wear, Desa Seni and Man Frydays.
