Bali Dynasty Resort Ranks One of Top 25 Best Hotels for Families in Indonesia

During the first quarter of this year, Bali Dynasty Resort was acknowledged in the ‘Top 25 Best Hotels for Families in Indonesia’ category in the 2019 Travellers Choice Awards by TripAdvisor. Bali Dynasty Resort Hosts the 2018 Prime Plaza Inauguration Night

Bali Dynasty Resort recently hosted the 2018 Prime Plaza Supervisor & Employee of The Year Inauguration Night on Tuesday, 2nd April 2019. All attendees were welcomed with cocktails served on the Roof Top of the brand-new Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub. This was followed by dinner and entertainment from talented staff members in the resort’s tropical garden and pool environment.

The event was attended by Mr. Frans Bonang, President Director of Prime Plaza Hotels & Resort. He was joined by the Prime Plaza Management Team, General Managers and representatives from each Prime Plaza property.

Bali Dynasty Resort went all out to create a spectacular evening that was supported by a floating stage, giant screen and amazing lighting. Participating staff members putting on a real show that included a live band, fire dance, belly dancers and lots more.

During the event, the top performing 18 candidates from Prime Plaza properties across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatera were all in attendance and in the running for Best Supervisor and Best Employee of the Year. Candidates had previously gone through an intense assessment process in accordance to the criteria set forth by the committee plus a final interview session with Prime Plaza’s General Managers. The best three candidates were selected and these winners were officially announced by Mr. Frans Bonang, President Director of Prime Plaza Hotels & Resort, on the Inauguration Night itself.

Anak Agung Oka Arsika from Bali Dynasty Resort won the title for the Supervisor of the Year 2018. The title for Employee of the Year 2018 from Front of the House and Heart of the House were awarded to I Putu Darmada Eka Putra from Amadea Resort & Villas and I Wayan Adi Saputra from Prime Plaza Hotels & Suites Sanur respectively.

Anak Agung Oka Arsika (Supervisor of the Year 2018) is the Duty Manager at the Bali Dynasty Resort. Known as Agee, he has been working at the Bali Dynasty Resort since 2017. His outstanding personality, friendliness and helpful attitude make him popular amongst the guests. In his role as Duty Manager, he always shows an exemplary leadership towards his subordinates and is keen to give feedback and suggestions for the improvement in the Front Office Department.

I Putu Darmada Eka Putra (Employee of the Year 2018 - Front of the House) joined Amadea Resort & Villas in 2016 as Guest Service Staff. Born in 1994, Eka is often the first person to greet guests each morning and he exhibits friendly service through his personal approach. His hobbies include reading, jogging, photography, and listening to music.

I Wayan Adi Saputra (Employee of the Year 2018 from Heart of the House) has been working as Reservation Coordinator at the Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts for two years. Previously, Adi worked as Reservation Agent and was promoted in 2014. Known for his dedication and conscientious attitude, he consistently performs his duties to the very highest standard at all times. He never hesitates to contribute his thoughts and ideas to improve operations in the Accounting & Finance Department.

Charity Update

Mang Nik – Mang Nik isn’t your average 11-year-old boy. Mang Nik has autism, and he needs your help.

Locked in a 5x5m room with no ventilation overhead lighting or toilet, this intelligent boy is left alone for more than twelve hours a day.

Mang Nik needs constant supervision so that he doesn’t wander off by himself and extra care to integrate into local special-needs school. His future in his current situation is bleak. Your sponsorship helps Solemen Outreach team to change his future.

Gede Raka – Six-year-old Gede has cerebral palsy and is severely malnourished, but that doesn’t stop him from having a laugh as he sits in his specially-fitted wheelchair. His good spirits are what keep him going in what is sure to be a difficult road ahead.

Gede is now fighting for his life in the Pediatric ICU of Sanglah Hospital. You can help to pay for the medications and extra expenses his family cannot afford during the Quiz Nights every Tuesday at 07.30pm and Thursday at 08.30pm at Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub.

Turkish Airlines to Launch Istanbul-Bali Service in July 2019

Turkish Airlines will join Emirates and Qatar Airways from July 2019 in Bali as the carrier just made its timetable official. The Turkish carrier is also offering more capacities to Vietnam as it separates the flights from Istanbul to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Turkish Airlines plans to use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This long-haul, mid-size widebody, twin-engine jet is a good choice for the route and offers superb comfort in all classes of services. The carrier will initially start with three weekly flights from 17^th July 2019, increasing to a daily frequency from 8^th August 2019. It will be the second service into Indonesia after Jakarta, and the first non-stop scheduled daily flight to Europe.

Bali Arts Festival

For the most diverse art and cultural event on Bali’s annual calendar, look no further than the Bali Arts Festival. This highly anticipated event takes place every year in Denpasar and is a celebration of traditional Balinese culture. For an entire month, the city centre comes alive with music and dance honouring the island’s creative heritage. The festival boasts a comprehensive daily schedule of live performances, with arts and crafts and traditional costumes. You can witness authentic and contemporary dance shows, shadow puppet plays and music competitions, as hundreds of local and international artists take to the festival’s stages. This year will be the 41st anniversary of the Bali Arts Festival, proving that this enduring event will be the ultimate Balinese celebration of 2019. Saraswati Day

Once every 210 days, in accordance to the island’s traditional Pawukon calendar system), Bali will celebrate Saraswati that freely translates as “Knowledge Day”. Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and nature. She is symbolised by an attractive woman with a white swan among water lilies. The swan represents prudence, so that one’s knowledge is able to distinguish between good and evil. The water lilies and lotus flowers are symbols of holiness.

Saraswati has four hands in which she holds;

1. A lontar, which is a traditional Balinese book that is the source of science or knowledge.
2. A chain with 108 pieces to signify that knowledge never ends and has an everlasting life cycle.
3. A musical instrument (guitar or wina) denoting that science develops through the growth of culture.

On Saraswati Day, the Balinese will place offerings on holy books and tools of learning in their homes. People are not permitted to read or write on this occasion while the books are being blessed.  Students will celebrate at their respective school in the morning by praying together in the temple to express appreciation for past achievements and future academic success. Pagerwesi Day

Four days after Saraswati comes Pagerwesi, which means iron fence. It is essentially a time for the Balinese to strengthen their minds and souls against evil forces (the iron fence is a representation of strong self-preservation). On this occasion, followers of the Hindu faith focus on personal strength building. They do this to prevent evil from entering their minds, speech and actions. On the island of Bali, Pagerwesi is considered an auspicious holiday. It is celebrated in a similar way to Galungan Day with prayers, offerings, temple visits and the tall decorated bamboo poles that can be seen in the front of every home.
