Mark your calendar for the upcoming Back to Bali Dynasty Party 2016. We’d like to apologise for initially providing you the incorrect date. However, it is now confirmed that the event will be held on Saturday, 20 February 2016 in a new venue at the Subiaco Football Club in Leederville.

A fundraiser event as always, Back to Bali Dynasty Party 2016 will also be the perfect opportunity for us to introduce our new charity project. We have been supporting the East Bali Poverty Project for the last 15 years and we now feel that they have reached a stage of sustainability and that our efforts can now be focused elsewhere. We therefore have decided that it is time for us to support another charity programme which will be announced during the event.

As always you can also expect to see some of your favourite Bali Dynasty Resort staff in attendance too!

This year tickets will be on sale online and we will notify you in the next few weeks once the tickets are available for purchase!

New Year Delights in Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant

Celebrating New Year 2016 and the upcoming Chinese New Year, Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant offers three tempting New-Year-spirited delicacies—YEE SANG, YANG ROU and NIAN GAO.

YEE SANG is a special Chinese salad made up of thinly sliced carrots, yam, pickles, and other vegetables with chopped peanuts and salmon fish fillet, mixed and seasoned with Chinese spices and Golden Lotus special sauce. The combination creates a crispy salad with a heavenly taste of sweet and sour.

According to the Chinese belief, tossing Yee Sang symbolises the action of wishing one another a great year ahead filled with abundant health, prosperity and happiness. Yee Sang is available in small (IDR 70K nett), medium (IDR 95K nett) and large portions (IDR 120K nett).

YANG ROU is tender lamb dishes available in two choices of sauces. Diners can choose from fried lamb in black pepper sauce or the wok-fried lamb with garlic, spring onion and black pepper. Available for only IDR 95K net per portion, each dish can serve up to 3 people.

NIAN GAO is also making its debut to Golden Lotus’ menu for this Chinese new year period. Widely known as the Chinese New Year Cake, Nian Gao represents the hope that the new year will bring sweeter days and the family will always “be glued” together. Prepared from glutinous rice, battered and fried to golden brown, Golden Lotus’ Nian Gao is available for IDR 55K nett/portion, a perfect sweet dessert suitable for a family gathering.

All the three dishes are available at Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant between 1 January 2016 until 31 March 2016.

Top 10 Bali Dynasty Resort’s Great Things in 2015

2015 has been a very special year for us with not only celebrating 25 years of the Bali Dynasty Resort but also some great achievements, milestones and new initiatives that we introduced during the year to make you, our loyal guests stay all the more enjoyable in the future.

We have listed below our Top 10.

1. Dynasty Rewards
We launched Dynasty Rewards in early March 2015. Dynasty Rewards enables you to earn points on room nights stays as well as in "resort" owned and operated restaurants and bars and Spa. So you can notch up points when you charge everything to your room and redeem your points on your next stay at the Bali Dynasty Resort. Up until the year end we have issued over 1.8 million reward points to our guests! Have you signed up for Dynasty Rewards?
 
2. Free Wi-Fi
In March, we introduced our Free Wi-Fi Service in guest rooms and in public areas of the resort enabling up to two guests per room to easily get connected wherever they were in the resort with up to 1GB band usage per day.
For those in need of faster internet, we provide premium service at an additional cost of $5 per day.

3. The Silver Jubilee
On the 15th of May, we celebrated our Silver Jubilee . The event was attended by our long term supporters from travel agents, corporations, suppliers, guests and other business partners. The evening was a lavish affair held at the poolside, with glorious food and an endless supply of beverages. We also gave appreciation to our Top Producing agents such as Asia World Indonesia, Pacto, U&I Holidays, Bali Res Centre and MG Group and our top Online Travel Agents, Agoda, Booking.com and Expedia.

4. 25th Anniversary Special
In the euphoria of the Silver Jubilee, we launched a special campaign “25th Anniversary Specials”. Valid until 31 August 2015 the special gave the guests discounted prices from USD 15 until USD 30 every day on all room types for minimum stay of 6 nights. 25th Anniversary Special was a huge success.
PS. We may consider introducing more specials in the coming year!

5. New Responsive Website
In July we launched our newly designed website with a refreshed look and user-friendly interface, the website aims to ensure a convenient browsing experience from any device anytime. The new design introduces a simplified, yet-powerful main menu with links to the most useful pages, enabling users to find anything they need just in a click. You can also simply make your reservation from anywhere on the site, thanks to the booking feature, which always appears on top of each page.

6. Book, Pay Now & Save
This feature allows you to make your booking and pay at the exchange rate on the day of booking  which could give you savings in the future. This payment gateway has given our guests a “peace of mind” from worrying about the ups and downs in the exchange rates. In addition, you will also receive a % discount on your room rate. So consider to pay in advance to make some savings so you can spend more on your leisurely vacation in Bali.
 
7. Golden Oldies
Are you active, retired and looking for a break overseas? In October 2015 we launched our Golden Oldies Package, whereby you can enjoy a relaxing holiday for a minimum of 7 night stays. We provide a home away from home in the comfort of our Deluxe Room, including daily buffet breakfast and a complimentary hassle free return airport transfer. Watch the sun go down as you enjoy our complimentary one time afternoon tea. 8. All the New Things
In May 2015 we completed our further upgrades, giving a fresher look and impression, guaranteeing an excellent staying experience for leisure and business travellers. The recent upgrades have included remodelling of the Café Piazza overlooking the beautiful, newly-landscaped Balinese pond and surrounding gardens with new footpaths as well as upgrades to the ever popular Family Pool View Rooms, the poolside and the Kertagosa Meeting Room.

The upgrades are parts of the resort’s multi-phased refurbishment that has been carried out step by step since 2010, and has meant some significant changes to the resort since its opening in 1990. To date, almost all parts of the resort have been renovated, refurbished and remodelled, to maintain its’ image and reputation as a premier family resort, defining hospitality at its finest and guests’ satisfaction as its prime concern.

Thank you for your support on our Charity Painting Exhibition!

We’d like to extend our gratitude for everyone who has supported our charity painting exhibition at Café Piazza. Since September 2015, we have displayed some beautiful work from I Wayan Lias, a former East Bali Poverty Project’s student that we have been supporting for the last 15 years. With a total of 14 exhibits on sale for charity, the painting exhibition aims to raise funds to support the further programmes and development of East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP).

The painting exhibition garnered some attention with the local media attending the launching and featured it in their publication. During an interview with the press, Lias felt grateful as “the exhibition serves not only as an appreciation for my skill, but also an opportunity for me to extend my arms helping other EBPP’s children in need through my art”.

The charity exhibition also gained positive feedback from our guests. Some paintings were purchased and shipped overseas. “The paintings were beautiful and bold in Balinese culture,” said one of the visitors.

In case if you haven’t seen the exhibition, we host this exhibiiton until early January and there are still a few paintings left for sale.

Bali is the Most Popular Holiday Destination for Singaporean in Q1 2016
Bali is the most popular international destination for Singapore travellers for the first quarter of 2016, according to a report released  by travel site TripAdvisor.

The report, drawn from search data on the TripAdvisor website, listed the 10 most popular holiday hotspots chosen by Singapore travellers for the travel period between Jan 1 and Mar 31, 2016.

Other popular holiday destinations among Singaporean travellers were Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, Osaka, Kyoto, Seoul, Sapporo, Boracay and Langkawi.

New Consul-General in Bali for Australia
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has appointed a new consul general in Bali, Helena Studdert. Studdert has previously served as Australian ambassador to Serbia and counsellor at the Australian High Commission in Wellington.

In a statement, Bishop said the Denpasar-based Consulate General is Australia’s third busiest, with almost a million Australians visiting the resort island each year. In addition, Indonesia is one of Australia’s most important relationships with highly productive and diverse partnership that straddles business, politics, defence, security, culture and education.

Helena Studdert will take up her post in January, relieving Majell Hind who has served in the role since 2014.

Tumpek Uduh - A blessing day for plants on 16 January 2016
“Tumpek Uduh” is a holy day dedicated to the blessings of plants, especially those that produce fruits and flowers. On this day households bless their gardens, farms and plantations for successful harvests in lead up to the Galungan celebrations three weeks ahead, which largely require the items for various temple offerings.

Piodalan at Besakih Temple - 26 January 2016
Besakih Temple will celebrates its biannual temple anniversary called “Piodalan” on 26 January 2016. Pilgrims from all over the island flock to the temple for prayers, providing a unique sight to see on this sacred sanctuary at the foot of Mount Agung, the island's highest peak.

Besakih Temple, known as Bali’s ‘Mother Temple’ for over 1,000 years, sits 1,000 metres high on the southwestern slopes of Mount Agung. Besakih is an artistic and unique complex that comprises at least 86 temples which include the main Pura Penataran Agung (the Great Temple of State) and 18 others.

Besakih is the biggest and holiest of the island's temples and is surrounded by breathtaking and scenic rice paddies, hills, mountains, streams, and more.
