Bali News

The governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, announced stronger measures in handling the issue of Coronavirus outbreak in Bali. His letter to the public from Friday, March 27th 2020 instructs  all officials and leaders to cancel all cultural and religious events.

Following this instruction, on its official Instagram account the Bali Provincial Government once again has emphasized that this measure is not considered as a lock down. It's important to understand, that people in Bali are still able to go out buying food and other important items.

Since the Governor of Bali has released his decree No. 7194 Year 2020, local authorities in Bali are starting to do some adjustment on the way of providing services for the public. Some regions in Bali have followed the advisory published by The Minister of Home Affairs, Republic of Indonesia, regarding the prevention of Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the local community.

For example the mayor of Denpasar, IB Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra who has already published an advisory letter. In this letter the major advises all the people in Denpasar to limit their activity outside the house, especially in terms of doing grocery shopping by moving to use online shopping services. This measure is expected to be able to minimize the number of crowds as a part of Social and Physical Distancing practices in public places like traditional markets and grocery stores. Furthermore, hopefully near in the future all the people in Denpasar are also expected to get comfortable in using e-money. This is very important as money (bank notes) are considered to have become one of the biggest media spread of the virus.
Several traditional markets in Denpasar starts from today March 30th are accessible via Go-Shop feature in Go-Jek app. "Starting tomorrow, the markets will be available via online on Gojek (GoShop, feature) on Badung Market, Kumbasari, Gunung Agung, Kereneng, Ketapean, Satria, Sanglah, Pidada, Anyar Sari, Cokroaminoto, and Abiantimbul," added the local authority IB Kompyang Wiranata on Sunday March 29.
Other regions in Bali are expected to follow this advisory soon, please take your part in this movement by start doing online shopping and stay at home until further notice informed by the government. (Source: https://www.bali.com/)

Charity Update

Thank you for all the support and generous donations that have enabled us to establish and sponsor the Bali Dynasty Resort Care & Recovery Centre. This care facility replicates a nurturing home environment that provides the necessary assistance and resources required to keep families together before, during, and after medical treatment. With the centre now open and being operated by Solemen Indonesia, a non-profit charity foundation, Bali Dynasty Resort is focusing its efforts to cover expenses for a number of Sole Buddies who are currently in residence.

Mariani is a seven-year-old girl from Karangasem. She is suffering from a serious heart defected and is malnourished. Previously hospitalized at Karangasem and Sanglah due to her condition, Mariani is currently being monitored by a specialist paediatric cardiac surgeon. She needs to go to Jakarta next month for heart surgery and IDR 20.000.000 million is required to cover the cost of this procedure.

Ardi is a 2-year-old boy also from Karangasem who is suffering from an imperforate anus. He has been hospitalized at Sanglah hospital where he was also diagnosed with intestinal adhesions that require immediate medical treatment. Approximately IDR 20.000.000 is needed cover this surgery.

You can be a part of this exciting project by participating in our Quiz Nights at Gracie Kelly’s, contributing to our Dollar/night program, or giving a straight donation to our charity boxes during your stay or via transfer to our account no. 146.011.8138, Bank BCA, account name PT Dwi Mitra Nusantara /BDH with the remark "Solemen" . We thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
