Charity Update

Bali Dynasty Resort continues our commitment to support individuals with disabilities and disadvantaged in Bali through our program ‘Help Friends for Life’ with Solemen Indonesia. This program aims to provide support and assistance to those in need, and we are proud to announce our latest initiative to support individuals suffering from skin diseases such as Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and Harlequins Ichthyosis.

Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare genetic condition that affects the skin's ability to bind, causing the skin to blister and tear easily, even with the slightest friction or trauma. This condition can significantly affect the quality of life of children, causing them pain, disfigurement, and disability. Children with EB require ongoing medical care, including wound care, and management of infections and other complications.

To support those affected by these conditions, Bali Dynasty Resort has donated a supply of effective creams that help manage the symptoms and improve the quality of life for those suffering from these conditions. These creams are an essential part of the treatment for these skin diseases and can help relieve pain, prevent infection, and reduce scarring.

The partnership with Solemen Indonesia will ensure that the donated creams will reach those who need them the most. Solemen Indonesia is a non-profit organization that provides support to disadvantaged individuals in Bali, including children with skin diseases. With the support of Bali Dynasty Resort, Solemen Indonesia can make a significant impact on the lives of these children and their families.

Big Improvements To Kuta Beach Make Iconic Sunset View Even More Magical

Kuta Beach, Bali's iconic seaside holiday destination, has undergone a series of impressive renovations over the last year. The work is nearly complete, and the beach is looking like its old self again.

Now, local leaders have announced that the magical sunset view is about to get even better. The number of beach stalls along the Kuta Beachfront will be reduced. However, fear not; everything is in hand.

The Head of the Customary Village of Kuta, I Wayan Wasista, explained to reporters that the number of traders along Kuta Beach would be reduced from over 1,100 to 800. This, he says, will help improve the tourist experience and preserve the view of the beach. He added that many of the traders are operating informal businesses without licenses and business permits. Wasista said, "If the image of Kuta Beach is damaged, who will come? Therefore, something firm is needed there."

The Kuta Beach Management Committee and Traditional Village Council have come together to create a plan to reduce the number of traders along Kuta Beach. The reduction in traders will also help reduce the aggressive sales tactics experienced by some tourists in the area.

Tumpek Wayang

Tumpek Wayang is a significant traditional holiday and sacred festival for Hindus in Bali, celebrated every six months. The festival is an occasion for puppeteers to perform purification rites, known as "ruwatan," which aim to cleanse their bodies and minds.

Tumpek Wayang holds a special place in the Balinese calendar as it marks a transition point between four important days: Saniscara, Kajeng, Kilown, and Wayang. This holiday has a sacred meaning for locals due to its transitional nature.

One of the key aspects of this celebration is that it commemorates the birth of Lord Kala, an important figure in Balinese mythology. According to local legends, Kala was born as a result of an unplanned union between the gods Shiva and Uma, although there are several variations of this story.

Despite the variations, the central theme of the celebration remains the coming together of Shiva and Uma. This is why the festival includes purification rituals, followed by the signature puppet show, titled "Sapuh Leger," which takes place in various temples throughout the island.

If you find yourself in Bali during Tumpek Wayang, be sure to catch one of the puppet shows and engage with the locals to learn more about their unique culture.

This year, Tumpek Wayang will be celebrated on the April 20th at all temples over the island.
