Octoberfest at Gracie Kelly’s

Known as the most popular festival of the year in Germany, we are here to bring this celebration to the island! Gracie Kelly’s Irish Bar is inviting all German beer lovers to come and celebrate German style on the 7th of October.

The festival will be full of entertainment and of course great beer. Our team has prepared a special celebration featuring a live DJ performance from DJ Bntang Berlin, with a  live band performance, special dancers and of course our iconic leprechauns. During the party, enjoy numerous promotions, including 10% off on selected main course such as Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, and of course the special chicken schnitzel. What’s New in October 2022

A new family room category is in the works with a small collection of 6 new rooms with direct access to our ground floor inner garden and will soon be ready to welcome all of you. Each room will be equipped with one King sized bed and two single beds, sleeping up to 4 adults comfortably.

Besides the new room collection, the resort has also updated the Kids Playground with some cheerful decorations and some new playground equipment and trampoline for kids 6 and under. This kids playground can be accessed for free to all guests staying at the resort. Our gardeners have also been busy around the resort with many new projects such as a renovation to our very popular duck pond along with some creative additions to our beautiful tropical gardens. A stroll along the corridors will also reveal some new upgrades to the bright new corridor gardens.

Given its popularity as family-friendly destination with a high percentage of repeat guests, Bali Dynasty Resort is committed to updating and improving its facilities regularly. All projects are carefully screened and carried out with minimal disturbance to guests stay. Christmas at Bali Dynasty Resort

We know that it is still 3 months away, but we have been busy to prepare the most special Holiday celebration just for you. Christmas at Bali Dynasty Resort will be filled with exciting entertainment and of course delicious holiday cuisine to make it the perfect venue to celebrate with your loved ones!

Festivities will start with a delicious Christmas Eve dinner buffet served on the 24th with your favourite Christmas songs by the excellent acoustic Trio band.

Christmas day we will be a full day of holiday spirit, kicked off by Christmas day lunch buffet with a visit from Santa Clause to see if you have been naughty or nice with live Christmas Carols to support the local orphanage. Followed by the evenings special Christmas buffet Dinner served at H2O poolside restaurant with live entertainment of your favourite Christmas songs.

Charity Updates

Bali Dynasty Resort reached out community through Solemen

In accordance with our commitment to help people in need, Bali Dynasty Resort has continued to reach out under the tagline ‘Help Friends for Life’ and in partnership with Solemen Indonesia. Bali Dynasty Resort has recently visited the Soul house and donated some much needed supplies such as a wheelchair and some bean bags for the Solebuddies at Bali Dynasty Resort’s recovery centre.

These donations have been successfully delivered to the Solemen’s Outreach program for people with disabilities and children who are currently under or awaiting medical treatment which are currently staying at the Bali Dynasty Resort’s Recovery Centre. The recovery centre was funded by the Bali Dynasty Resort program  ‘Friends for Life’. The care facilities purpose is to replicates a comfortable home environment which provides the necessary assistance and resources required to keep families together before, during, and after medical treatment. Since it’s conception back in 2019 the 6 room recovery centre has been able to assist numerous children and their families.

‘Help Friends for Life’ donations are made possible by the incredible support of the donations from the guests at Bali Dynasty Resort and the various charity programs including, the Quiz Night held twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday at Gracie Kelly’s the most authentic Irish pub in Bali. Funds have also been raised through other fundraisers around the resort with fun activities and games such as bingo, village walks and by sales from the irresistible cuddly SoleTeddy bear.

Are you into books, writing, reading, film and culture? This event might be exciting if you are one of them. Bali is inviting everyone to join the largest writers and readers festival on the island, the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2022.

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is an event held in Ubud that celebrates all things about literature, reading, writing, film and culture. The festival is the brainchild of Janet De Neefe, an Australian-born woman who envisioned a literary space where talented artists could express themselves. The event was invented by the Bali bombings in 2002, which triggered Janet into action. Janet wanted the world to see that Bali could still move on after the bombings and, with this, she set off to set up the festival. The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is a yearly pilgrimage for experts and lovers of the literary world, ranging from readers, authors, musicians and chefs. There are a number of workshops and classes held throughout the festival where writers can hone their skills and get feedback from experts in the field.

On the 27-30 October 2022, writers, artists, activists, and performers from Indonesia and beyond will converge for the 19th UWRF to share stories and ideas exploring this year’s theme: Uniting Humanity. This year’s theme is ‘Memayu Hayuning Bawana‘, an ancient Javanese philosophy that means the principles by which we care for, protect, and beautify our universe. Bawana refers to ‘our world’, which is not only a physical space but also a cultural and deeply spiritual realm. ‘Memayu’ is the way we sustain the beautification of our planet on our eternal path to universal harmony. UWRF translates this philosophy into ‘Uniting Humanity‘, which will unfold as a series of programs responding to Humanity’s capacity to strengthen our ties as individuals and the world as a collective. The main festival events will take place on Jalan Raya Sanggingan, just 5 minutes from the Ubud town centre. Each year the program is spread out over a number of venues including Taman Baca, Indus Restaurant and Neka Museum. But there are also a number of other events scheduled in and around Ubud. Most sessions will be held in English, Indonesian or bilingual. Translators will be present in most sessions.

This year, Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2022 will take place in Blanco Museum. Tickets will be available at $62 for Indonesian citizenship, $361 for International Visitors, and $180.90 for KITAS holders. Batik Air Launches New Non-stop Perth To Bali Flights

Batik Air has announced their new flight right from Perth to Denpasar. The service will run four times weekly and serve thousands of passengers between Western Australia and Bali. 

The direct flight takes just 3 hours and 50 minutes. It offers travelers an alternative to JetStar and AirAsia, both of whom serve the same route. Speaking to reporters, the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, said, ‘I congratulate Batik Air on the opening of this inaugural flight, and Australia has 7 cities that can be served. Hopefully, we can connect with other Australian cities, and we are ready to synergize with Batik Air’.

The news comes as another key signal that the Island of the Gods continues to progress away from the devastation of the pandemic. Increased flight schedules to Australia from Indonesia can only serve to strengthen ties and support economic growth. 

The Batik Air Perth-Bali service launch comes at just the right time. Airlines had been taking a cautious approach to reopening and launching new flight schedules in the wake of the pandemic. Still, tourism numbers to Bali over the last nine months have proven to be sustainable. 

Heryudhitiawan went on to explain ‘Looking at the current trend, the most foreigners in the January-August 2022 period who came were dominated by Australia with 277,034 passengers, then India with 71,613 passengers and the United Kingdom with 61,070 passengers. Therefore, Batik Air is not wrong to open its inaugural flight from Perth to Bali’. 

The service will run Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and tickets remain available for this week’s flights. The first Perth-Bali flight landed in Denpasar on Saturday, 17th September. The aircraft was welcomed by a water cannon salute, and passengers received flower garlands as they entered the terminal building.

A similar welcome was afforded to passengers and crew arriving on Batik Air’s first post-pandemic Bali-Melbourne flight in June 2022. Batik Air’s Bali-Melbourne route operates every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Cultural Events

Sarasawati and Pagerwesi

According to the Balinese Pawukon Calendar, the holiday of Sarasvati occurs every 210 days. This celebration, also known as Knowledge Day, is based on the Hindu goddess of the same name; Sarasvati represents music, arts, wisdom and nature and is able to readily differentiate between good and evil. In her four arms, she holds objects which represent different things. Her zither showcases art while the scriptures show the path of human enlightenment by way of knowledge. To add to it, her rosary of 108 beads showcases the eternal and cyclical nature of spirituality.

To celebrate Sarasvati, Balinese people carry offerings to the holy books within their homes, offices, schools or temples. These offerings typically take place in the morning. During the afternoon, Balinese refrain from reading or writing because all of the books are basking in the blessings that were placed upon them earlier in the day. Then, in the evening, the people of Bali read books (typically spiritual ones) to embrace knowledge.

Pagerwesi occurs a few days after Sarasvati. This holiday, the name of which translates literally to iron fence, serves as a day for Balinese people to strengthen their minds and souls to fight against evil. If you think about it, an iron fence represents great strength, the likes of which worshippers hope to harvest in their own selves. In order to do so, they worship a god named Sanghyang Paramesti Guru, whose primary duty is to eliminate all evil beings of the world.

The celebration of Pagerwesi includes adorning streets with penjor, or tall bamboo poles decorates with flowers. These are the same artifacts which find their way into another very important Balinese holiday, Galungan. People make offerings, pray in their homes and head to the temple for praying. It’s a big holiday, and it’s particularly unique in the fact that it takes place during the middle of the night, so there’s no mistaking just what holiday is occurring during Pagerwesi.

This year, Saraswati will be celebrated on the 22nd October 2022 while Pagerwesi will be celebrated on the 26th October 2022, in all temples on the island!

The best hotel ever! Dynasty is the most amazing resort you could imagine, not only for kids but adults also. Great place for families!! We Absolutely loved our time at this hotel with 2 young children. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Facilities were great, rooms very spacious. Kids club had lots of fun things happening, movie nights too and the staff were so good with the kids. They also have babysitters available. Swim up bar was great & food was really nice! We had a wonderful stay - everyone was so friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and spacious. The spa treatments were pure bliss. Loved the evening entertainment. Great family fun holiday with everything you need right in the resort walking distance to the beach, great restaurants and markets. Lily does a great massage at the spa and the pool bar staff are fun and friendly. The kids loved kids club, I never asked them to go, they begged us to take them. Well done Dynasty. Penny H

Great resort. Excellent facilities. Convenient location, can walk to restaurants, salons and markets or grab a short cab. Beach is accessible with a public swing out the front. Easy access to other resort restaurants. Rooms are great, not perfect, we had a SUPER loud aircon that clanked and banged most of the night, but mostly the ammenties in rooms and throughout the resort are well maintained. Pools are either 30cm, 1m or 2m deep; this made it tricky for our short but adventurous 5yo... can confirm lifeguards are great! Twice daily happy hour is excellent value. Breakfast buffet gets repetitive but they change up the dinner menu for the buffet each evening. Brittany S
