Charity Update

Eka Sasmita - Eka Sasmita, a 14-year-old girl from Negara, is on a difficult journey, but she won’t have to do it alone. Diagnosed with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a hereditary skin disease resulting in brittle skin that blisters easily, Eka is under constant threat of infection and chronic pain.

A recent biopsy has revealed squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the second most common form of skin cancer. Because of the severity of her condition, Eka will undergo amputation of her right foot and is, currently, on the waiting list at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar.

Standing by to support Eka is 18-year-old Komang Juniasih. Juniasih, one of our Solebuddies, made the difficult decision when she was sixteen to have her right leg amputated after suffering from a debilitating leg deformity for many years. After being fitted with a prosthetic leg and undergoing physical therapy, Juniasih thrives socially and in her school community and will be able to assist Eka through this difficult process.

Your sponsorship has paid for Eka’s consultation and transportation to and from Sanglah as she continues to treat her condition while waiting for surgery.

Arini - 17-year-old Arini is a girl with a plan. Growing up in Singaraja, Arini has seen, first-hand, the work that is being carried out by the Solemen across the island. Through Bali Dynasty and their  guests, Arini has been sponsored in school as she pursues her to dream to become a nurse with a goal to join the Solemen Outreach Team.

Update: Arni will complete her exams and graduate in two months.

We commend her on her passion for her future and her commitment to her education. Thank you for giving her hope. These goals and dreams would not be possible without Bali Dynasty’s school sponsorship and your contributions.

Ketut Bentir - Ketut Bentir was chained to the floor in a concrete room for more than three years when Solemen stepped in to assist the family. In September of 2018, Ketut was taken off the chain which kept her on the bare floor of a run-down cottage in Singaraja.

With ongoing care, this depressed and uncooperative 30-year-old woman has become more independent and able to integrate into her community. Ketut receives weekly visits from the Solemen Outreach team to receive medication and care for her condition. She has been able to go on outings by herself, and, on any given day, you can find her walking around the local gangs visiting friends and playing with the puppy that never leaves her side.

Tour of the Month – A Great Day Out with Mason Adventures

Previously known as Bali Adventure Tours, Mason Adventures is one of Bali’s best tour operators. In 2017, the company launched its latest tourism activity called Jungle Buggy. Set in Tatag Village which is only 3 km from the company’s world-popular Elephant Safari Park & Lodge at Taro, the activity offers an exciting and intense driving experience through Bali’s tropical forest, giving you a whole new dimension of Bali adventure that should be included in your holiday plan.

The Jungle Buggy uses high-end buggies made by Polaris, which is known as the world renowned leader in off-road innovation. Guests can choose to ride on the single seated buggy or share the double seated buggy with a friend. Those who are not confident to drive a buggy can take the Tandem Buggy, where you will ride the double seated buggy with a professional buggy driver so that you can just sit, relax and enjoy the thrills. The trip is very comfortable as both models are built for intense work on and off the beaten track while providing a smooth ride. Both models also boast certified roll cages, three point seatbelts, and safety nets to help ensure safety during the exhilarating jungle drive.

The track, which has been meticulously designed by Nigel Mason, the company’s founder, spans 4.5 km in one lap across the dirt and gravel track through Bali’s tropical forest. One Jungle Buggy trip consists of a minimum 2 laps and will begin and finish at the new Koko Bambu Restaurant. After the trip, guests will be treated to a delicious set menu lunch overlooking Bali’s dense tropical woods, which can be enjoyed from the dining table or from the infinity pool. Once you’re done, head over to visit the new Mason Gourmet Chocolate Factory & Showroom where you can learn the science between each chocolate variation and indulge in chocolate tasting as well as chocolate cocktails.

Another piece of exciting news is that guests can combine this Jungle Buggy tour with other popular activities offered by Mason Adventures, such as white water rafting, the elephant safari ride, bicycling, and more, thanks to the various locations, which are close to one another.

Speak to our Tour & Information Centre about this new exciting tour and arrange your trip. We offer a special discount up to 15% off, so why wait?
