Bali Dynasty Resort Supports International Coastal Clean Up Day 2018

On 15th September 2018, in partnership with the Bali Hotels Association, Bali Dynasty Resort participated in the International Coastal Clean Up Day 2018. The management team and over 40 staff members came together for this environmental awareness project with the aim to clean Kuta Beach.

Beginning at 7.30 am, the Bali Dynasty Resort crew picked up rubbish all along the way to Jerman Beach where each collection bag was carefully weighed and documented. The specific trash details from around Bali were then sent to the Ocean Conservancy Board, which compiles records from all over the world. These records will be used by the Ocean Trash Index to raise awareness, identify debris or unusual trash hotspots and advise on policy solutions to reduce water/marine pollution.

The cleaning of South Kuta Beach is not just a once a year undertaking. Bali Dynasty Resort schedules a monthly general clean up in and around the resort, as well as the immediate beach environment. This activity is a highly anticipated get-together for staff members from each different department. At the same time, it ensures that all guests get to enjoy a clean and comfortable beach experience during their stay.

Bali Dynasty Resort Donates to Lombok Earthquake Victims

In order to help the residents of Lombok impacted by a devastating succession of deadly earthquakes, Bali Dynasty Resort in partnership with Bali Hotel Association recently joined forces to send basic items of survival to the island.

These donations were directed to those people who had lost their homes, assets and livelihoods due to damage caused by the series of earthquakes that hit the area over the duration of several weeks.

Throughout the month of August, Bali Dynasty Resort collected donations from staff members, in-house and outside visitors. Blankets, bathing supplies, clothing and essential food items were gathered during the process. These goods were then boxed up, transported to Lombok and distributed accordingly to those in need.

Currently, Bali Dynasty Resort is still welcoming donations for this worthy cause. For more information, you can visit our website www.bdr.pphotels.com.

Bali Dynasty Resort’s Sole Buddies

Bali Dynasty Resort continues to help more individuals through the Sole Buddies project, a program created to help alleviate the suffering of the disadvantaged by providing donations and essential medical care.

One deserving person who is currently under our care is 42-year-old Nengah Gusana. This helpless man was up until recently caged by his community due to a mental illness. Solemen has taken Nengah on socialisation outings and arranged regular visits to a local medical facility where he receives an injection every two weeks to help control his condition. Currently, Nengah is a patient at Sanglah Hospital as he has been diagnosed with a thyroid tumour that is suspected to be malignant.

We are also providing some much-needed assistance to 15-year-old Bella and 6-year-old Dio from Gianyar who are both suffering from hydrocephalus, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and malnourishment. The pair require daily medical check-ups and neuro monitoring from Sanglah Hospital. Recent CT scans indicate that Bella and Dio will both need to undergo immediate surgery to relieve liquid that has accumulated deep within their respective brain cavities.

Our last recipient for the time being is a little 6-year-old girl from Karangasem named Mariani. She was born prematurely and suffers from a hole in her heart. This serious condition was first discovered when she was just a baby and it has since impacted her overall quality of life. She will soon receive cardiac catheterization in preparation for follow-up surgery in Jakarta.

Our ongoing support for those less fortunate in Bali through Solemen is made possible thanks to your continued generosity and donations. Help us reach even more individuals in need by participating in our twice-a-week Quiz Night every Tuesday at 7.30pm) and Thursday at 8.45pm in the relaxed ambience of Gracie Kelly’s. We regularly raise funds through bingo games, village walks and by selling cute SoleTeddy bears. There is also our 2-dollar upon check-out program or the option drop your spare coins in the charity boxes placed all around the resort. Every little bit counts!

Saraswati Day

Bali’s Hindu community will celebrate Saraswati Day on 13th October 2018 with special ceremonies, offerings and prayers. This auspicious occasion honours Dewi Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning. It is held every 210 days in accordance to the Balinese religious calendar.

The symbol of this revered deity is a beautiful four-armed goddess illustrated as playing the zither while holding up sacred manuscripts. She is often depicted standing on top of a lotus flower with a swan at her feet. This vision demonstrates purity and an incessant thirst for knowledge.

The hallmark of celebrations on this day is the provision of offerings by locals regardless of their location: whether at school, at home, at the office, or in the temples. These offerings are varied, but the one similarity between them is the fact that they are all placed on top of books and in the middle of pages containing holy scriptures. This is done in appreciation of knowledge and the quest for higher learning.

Pagerwesi Day

Pagerwesi is another Balinese holiday that is observed by followers of the Hindu faith every 210 days according to a traditional Balinese calendar system. It falls just three days after Saraswati on 17th October 2018.

The name of this occasion is derived from two local words: pager and wesi. Pager is a local word that translates to ‘fence’, while wesi means ‘iron’. The full literal meaning is iron fence and it is a time for the Balinese people to strengthen their minds and souls against evil forces.

Symbolic offerings of fruit, flowers and other tangible elements are made to appease Siva, the third deity in the Hindu religion. Siva is honoured as the god who protects the universe, and locals will pay their respects in order to invoke prosperity as well as pray for protection.

Guest Feedback

I have celiac disease and was feeling nervous about finding gluten free food in Bali. Gluten free food in H2O was always delicious and I felt very looked after. Thank you, we’ll be back. Hannah AUS

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed with my family amongst many cities around the world that I have visited. This is just so perfect a stay with Kids that the kids would not even be interested to be in the Room. To top it all, you can send your kids to the Kids play area and be rest assured for the hotel to take good care of them and will keep them engaged through out the day. Their Kids play area and the Pool is just so amazing. There are many more aspects which would take time to write on. Feel free to get in tough with me in case of any further questions. Kedia INDIA

All the services we used we experienced 5 star service. Your staff make your resort fantastic. They are why we keep coming back. We love your staff. Michelle NZ

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I had a room with the pool view with decent amount of natural light. The food at the hotel is amazing and the staff very very courteous and friendly. Absolutely no complaints about service. The hotel boasts of meticulous attention to details for family travelers. With family rooms having bunkers for children in a separate area and a separate television within the same room is a very subtle touch. The pool area for the children is a lot of fun for kids. The location is Kuta which is one of the more commercialized areas in Bali. And for Indian travelers there is an Indian restaurant right outside of the hotel. Overall it was a very very pleasant stay. Kaushik INDIA
