Bali Dynasty Resort’s Annual Temple Ceremony

Bali Dynasty Resort will celebrate its temple anniversary, known as ‘Odalan’, on 3rd November 2017 with an elaborate religious ceremony. It is held in accordance to the Balinese lunar calendar on the day of the full moon, which is considered an auspicious time for all types of ceremonial blessings or purification rites. The ceremony will be a lively occasion showcasing offerings of fruit and flowers as well as colourful decorations. A Hindu priest will lead the proceedings with sacred chants, smoky wafts of incense and splashes of holy water. Participating staff members, dressed in their finest traditional attire, will partake in a session of communal prayers seeking peaceful times ahead and ongoing success for the Bali Dynasty Resort.

A temple anniversary is a religious festival that not only commemorates the founding date of the Resort’s shrine but also appeases the gods and the other elements that influence the very existence of mankind. Hinduism is all about maintaining a harmonious balance between all of the forces of the physical, spiritual and unseen worlds. Therefore, offerings and prayers are an essential part of any Balinese ceremonial ritual.

If you happen to be at the Resort on 3rd November 2017, feel free to snap some cool pictures to document this annual celebration.

Charity Update

Bali Dynasty Resort has recently assisted Solemen to fund the endoscopy treatment for a poor little Balinese boy, Kadek Ari Wiguna, in Surabaya, East Java.

Kadek is a 9-year-old boy who has been unwell for approximately 2 years with recurrent gastric bleeds. Due to his recurring illness, he was advised to go to Surabaya, in Java, for more specialist care but his parents were unable to afford the flights and living costs there. Through a joint effort between Solemen Indonesia and Bali Dynasty Resort, we had been able to take poor little Kadek and his family to Surabaya.

Kadek has been in Surabaya for almost one month with his parents, and has undergone an endoscopy, which showed oesophageal varices. He is now awaiting a CT scan and USG before they decide the next step; in which complex surgery is anticipated.

Our constant support to the needy in Bali through Solemen is made possible thanks to your ongoing generous donations to our Charity Effort. Help us to reach and assist more individuals by participating in our twice-a-week Quiz Night on Tuesdays (7.30pm) and Thursdays (8.45pm) at Gracie Kelly’s; adopt the cute SoleTeddy; or leave donations in the charity boxes around the Resort. Every donation matters.
