Charity Update

Solemen and Bali Dynasty Resort have completed the project to install four community toilets and shower blocks for seven families in Desa Patas, Gerokgak, North Bali. Previously, the families used the beach and sea as a toilet.

This project has improved the safety, sanitation and quality of life for 26 people including three elderly people, one disabled adult and seven children. It is in line with our commitment to give back to the community, especially to the unfortunate/disadvantaged people who do not benefit from the island’s flourishing tourism sector.

The project was funded by Bali Dynasty Resort’s guests who continue to be very supportive to the Resort’s charity programme by eagerly donating through various fundraising efforts such as poolside games, donation boxes and purchasing the merchandise, as well as the voluntary $2 donation when checking out.

You can also help us to help the disadvantaged by joining our twice-weekly Quiz Night every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm at Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub, where we raise money to help the people with a one-off donation for much needed items such as wheelchairs, prosthetic legs etc.

We are now looking to fund a transit house near the hospital for the disadvantaged and their families who travel all the way from remote areas of Bali using the Solemen Car. This will be a fantastic help as they will have a comfortable place to stay at no cost and can therefore focus on their treatment.

Bali Welcomed International Figures and Top Celebrities

Bali continues to become the centre of attention with the arrival of prominent international figures as well as top celebrities who choose to enjoy a little paradise on Earth on the island of Bali this year.

In March, Bali welcomed King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and his family plus an entourage of thousands for a vacation in Nusa Dua. The King was so much impressed with the beauty of the island that he decided to extend his holiday for a few extra days.

The former US President Barack Obama and family spent their five-day vacation exploring some of Bali’s most famous places including Ubud, Tanah Lot, Jatiluwih, The Mother Temple Besakih, Nusa Dua and Pandawa Beach. Shortly after this, the current Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, also came to Bali and decided to stay in Nusa Dua.

Bali’s romantic scene was explored by the reigning Miss Universe Philippines 2017, Rachel Peters. Bali’s best white sandy beaches captured the eye of the Filipino beauty queen who posted the pictures on her social media. American singer-songwriter John Legend also appeared to have enjoyed a pleasant break in Bali with his wife Chrissy Teigen and baby Luna in the midst of his ‘Darkness and Light’ world tour. The couple posted a picture of themselves wearing the traditional grand Balinese attire, of which has gone viral.

The visits of these prominent figures have further highlighted Bali as one of the best tourism destinations in the world, following its Number One ranking in 2016 by TripAdvisor.

Australians are Opting to Stay in Downtown Kuta

In 2016, Seminyak was consistently the most popular destination for travellers continuing this year up until June.

However, according to searches made for June, July and August this year, Aussie travellers are making a shift to Kuta, now making the less expensive destination the most popular destination in Bali.

In addition, search trends show that users on Trivago, are increasingly searching the generic “Bali” term, rather than directly searching for the area they want to stay in, which had been the usual case. (Travelweekly.com.au)

Tour of the Month

One of Bali’s best tour operators, Bali Adventure Tours, has recently launched its latest tourism activity called Jungle Buggy. Set in Tatag Village which is only 3 km from the company’s world-popular Elephant Safari Park & Lodge at Taro, the activity offers an exciting and intense driving experience through Bali’s tropical forest, giving you a whole new dimension of Bali adventure that should be included in your holiday plan.

The Jungle Buggy uses high-end buggies made by Polaris, which is known as the world renowned leader in off-road innovation. Guests can choose to ride on the single seated buggy or share the double seated buggy with a friend. Those who are not confident to drive a buggy can take the Tandem Buggy, where you will ride the double seated buggy with a professional buggy driver so that you can just sit, relax and enjoy the thrills. The trip is very comfortable as both models are built for intense work on and off the beaten track while providing a smooth ride. Both models also boast certified roll cages, three point seatbelts, and safety nets to help ensure safety during the exhilarating jungle drive.

The track, which has been meticulously designed by Nigel Mason, the company’s founder, spans 4.5 km in one lap across the dirt and gravel track through Bali’s tropical forest. One Jungle Buggy trip consists of a minimum 2 laps and will begin and finish at the new Koko Bambu Restaurant. After the trip, guests will be treated to a delicious set menu lunch overlooking Bali’s dense tropical woods, which can be enjoyed from the dining table or from the infinity pool. Once you’re done, head over to visit the new Mason Gourmet Chocolate Factory & Showroom where you can learn the science between each chocolate variation and indulge in chocolate tasting as well as chocolate cocktails.

Another piece of exciting news is that guests can combine this Jungle Buggy tour with other popular activities offered by Bali Adventure Tours, such as white water rafting, the elephant safari ride, bicycling, and more, thanks to the various locations, which are close to one another.
