Welcome to the March Edition of Bali Dynasty Resort’s e-newsletter.

There are a lot of happenings around the resort in March, one of them being us saying goodbye to Robert Kelsall who decided to resign from Bali Dynasty Resort and welcome Didit Indra as the new General Manager. All kids facilities have been freshened up for the enjoyment of our guests. Golden Lotus and H2O Restaurant also launched new menus for their promotions in April.

Any visitors going to Bali in April will see streets adorned with beautiful ornamented bamboos called Penjor as the island is celebrating Galungan & Kuningan Day. Take photos and share it to social media to show that Bali is beautiful as we have been ranked as No. 1 in TripAdvisor’s Top Destination in the World!

Thank you Robert!

The time has come for us to bid farewell to our beloved General Manager, Robert Kelsall who has been with the Bali Dynasty Resort for over 17 years. Robert’s last day in the office was on the 24th of March 2017.

Robert was succeeded by Didit Indra Purnawarman who was previously the Resort Manager. “Having had Didit as my right hand man and having worked closely for the past 17 years on developing the Bali Dynasty Resort into what it is today; I feel confident that Didit is capable to take the helm and lead the Bali Dynasty Resort and its team into its next phase,” said Robert.

We’d like to thank Robert for being a great leader and mentor, who has brought his expertise to the development of Bali Dynasty Resort. His contribution and excellent leadership has brought out the best in everyone. It was a true pleasure for all of us to work under his supervision and he will surely be missed.

At last, we wish him all the best for his future endeavours. Thank you Robert!

Meet the New General Manager: Didit

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Didit Indra Purnawarman to the position of General Manager effective on the 1st of April 2017.

Didit’s career at the Bali Dynasty Resort began in 2001 when he was appointed as the Executive Assistant Manager before being promoted as the Resort Manager in 2014. Throughout his tenure, he worked hand in hand with Robert Kelsall and successfully improved the Resort’s quality of service and products, co-supervised the Resort’s multi-phased major facility upgrades, which subsequently strengthened the Resort’s popularity in the family market.

New Look of the Kids Club and Kids Water Fun Zone

We are pleased to share the news that Kids Water Fun Zone has been repainted and freshened up. Now all parts of the Kids Water Fun Zone are in their excellent condition for the enjoyment of our little guests.

Our Kids Club has also been renovated which included re-theming with a new Superhero and Disney theme and removing the Kids Club mid-room partition to allow more space for the activities. This will also allow the Kids Club to cater for more kids during the popular Kids Movie Nights every Thursday and Saturday which is normally booked out. Many of the toys and games are also replaced and several new kids activities have been introduced offering a balance of fun and education for the children while the parents enjoy a relaxing break.

Thank you for all the positive feedback we received to make the Resort a better holiday destination for everyone.

Shanghai Sesame Chicken Promotion

Golden Lotus will offer the delicious Shanghai Sesame Chicken at a very special price for 3 months starting on the 1st of April 2017. Available at just IDR 218,888 nett per whole chicken, the dish is complemented with steamed rice serving up to four people, making it a great value for money.

You will be presented with the whole cooked chicken covered in sesame seeds at your table by the chef. The crispy skin is then carved and used as the starter, wrapped in a Chinese pancake with spring onion, cucumber and the restaurant’s savoury black bean sauce. The succulent chicken meat is shredded and seasoned with black bean sauce and other spices as the main course.

New Theme Buffet Dinner at the H2O Restaurant

Regular visitors to H2O Restaurant are familiar with the H2O Theme Night Dinner which is a great value for money as kids aged 12 years and under eat free when accompanied by the same number of full paying adults.

To add to the value, we decided to refresh the Theme Buffet Dinner by adding a new menu to the list as below:

Monday NIGHT – SATAY NIGHT Rp. 225,000 nett

Charity Update

Wheelchairs and Airbeds for our new SoleNeeds

In March, we continued to extend our support to a few more disadvantaged people by providing 4 wheelchairs and airbed so they can now enjoy their lives better.

One wheelchair and an airbed were given to Kadek Leo who suffers from brain injury after a motorbike crash. He had neuro surgery twice and his condition is gradually improving as he is being able to rest and sit for a short period on the wheelchairs.

Three wheelchairs were given to Ketut Rata, Nengah Santi and Bapak Komang, who are all the elderly in Karangasem.

We also helped to fund for Eka Juliyanti who had to travel all the way from Karangasem (East Bali) to Denpasar for a specialist appointment with neuro-surgeon at Kasih Ibu Hospital.

Again we invite all of our guests to help us help the unfortunate people in Bali by joining the twice a week Gracie Kelly’s quiz nights every Tuesday and Thursday, the $2 to check out programme, or through the charity boxes around the resort.

Garuda to Increase Flights to Australia

Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia’s national flag carrier, has announced that it will be increasing seasonal flight frequencies to Australia on the back of strong visitor arrivals and improved route performance arising from its partnership campaign with Tourism Australia.

The Jakarta - Australia routes will increase from four to five flights per week while Bali - Australia routes will rise from six to seven flights per week from May until October 2017. Among the routes are Jakarta-Sydney, Denpasar-Sydney, Jakarta-Melbourne, Denpasar-Melbourne, Jakarta-Perth and Denpasar-Perth.


Bali is named Top Destination in the World by TripAdvisor

Bali has been named the best destination in the world in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice awards. Bali was described as a favourite destination for both adventurers and those in need of a little relaxation, with its white beaches, great diving and dense jungle treks contributing to its popularity.

Bali has often been at the top in the category of the Best Island in the World or Best Destinations in Asia. However this is the first time Bali is named as the World's Best Destination.

London ranks at the second and followed by Paris, Rome New York City, Crete in Greece, Barcelona, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Prague, and Phuket in Thailand.

Galungan & Kuningan – 5 and 15 April 2017

Great celebration is coming to the Island of Gods as the Balinese will celebrate Galungan and Kuningan—the most important Hindu holidays. Galungan is a Balinese holiday that signifies the victory of Virtue (Dharma) over Evil (Adharma). This important festival occurs every 210 days. It will begin this year on Wednesday, 5th of April and will last for 10 days. During this time, the Balinese gods and ancestral spirits descend to Earth to be honoured. They will leave on Kuningan, which is the final day of the holiday that falls on the 15th of April.

Before the day of Galungan and Kuningan, Hindu people in Bali are very busy preparing for the religious ceremonial offerings and Bali's streets are adorned with bright and colourful penjor, bamboo poles with offerings for the entire period between Galungan and Kuningan.

Tour of the Month

Bali Quad Discovery Tours has just launched their newest developed adventure offering definitely one of the most unique ways to get to explore the island of Bali! It’s the Monkey Bike Tour!

I MADE AGUS PRAMADI – EOY Front of the House
Pramadi is very popular amongst our guests as he is very friendly and talented. His hard work and dedication have brought him to earn the title of Employee of the Year 2016 from Front of the House. Joined Bali Dynasty Resort on 1 July 2011, he is well known for being a skilled bartender and is commonly seen at the H2O Restaurant. He also has a creative mind and is sometimes in charge to create the videos about the day to day activity in the resort. Congratulations on your achievement!


NI MADE CHRISTINE RAHAYU – EOY Heart of The House
The Sales Coordinator in the Sales & Marketing Department, Christine is known amongst her colleagues as a cheerful individual. Her passion and attention to details in doing her job has earned her the title of Employee of the Year 2016 from the Heart of the House. During her spare time, she enjoys swimming and listening to music with her two boys. Congratulations Christine!


GEDE SEMARAPADA – Supervisor of the Year 2016
Also known as Sam, he is the Duty Manager under Front Office Department. He is popular amongst the guests and his co-workers for his supervisory skill and quick response to follow up any inquiries. He joined the team in 1996 and really enjoys his work. Thank you for your contribution and congratulations on your achievement!
 
The Employees and the Supervisor of the Year from Bali Dynasty Resort will compete against the winners from our sister hotels for the title of Employees and Supervisor of the Year of Prime Plaza Hotels & Resort on 25 and 26 April 2017 in Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel.

New Referral Programme

As an appreciation for your support in referring people to stay at the Bali Dynasty Resort, we have launched the Referral Programme which will allow you to collect points by referring new guests to stay at the Bali Dynasty Resort.

This programme is part of the Dynasty Rewards programme. You will earn points starting from 100 points for every booking you refer. These points will be added to your Rewards Account once your referee has checked out, which means you have the opportunity to earn points faster even when you are not in the resort but you must make sure that the person you are referring includes your Rewards Membership number when making the reservation!
