Gracie Kelly’s Quiz Nights Raised Money for Made Minggu

Made Minggu is 53 years old man living in Gerokgak, North Bali. He had suffered a second stroke which had left him bedridden and unable to speak. He is now extremely distressed and tearful. His wife is worrying as to how she could care for her husband. Their eldest son had resigned from his job in a hotel in Kuta to help the family during this difficult time. The family's concerns were how to provide him with ungoing medical treatment and a wheelchair.

Upon finding his story, we stepped in with our SoleNeeds programme to help the family buy a wheelchair. Money was raised through Gracie Kelly's bi-weekly Quiz Night which now focuses on individuals needs. Thank to the positive response from our guests, we managed to raise around 3 million just in just a few weeks. A wheelchair was then purchased and delivered to the family. The family was very grateful since it would alleviate his suffering and make a difference in his life. Now they can take Made Minggu's out of his room to enjoy some fresh air outside.

Made Minggu's story is one of the causes that we successfully supported. Join us in these Quiz Nights every Tuesday and Thursday and help us to make a difference to the lives of those in need. On Tuesday, it is Family Quiz Night from 7.30pm with some questions kids might only know. On Thursday, it is General Quiz Night from 8.45pm.

Meet Ayu from Payangan, our new SoleBuddy

Our commitment to help friends for life with Solemen now reaches out to Payangan, Ubud to help Ayu and her family.

Ayu (aged 10) lives with her family in small house in Payangan, Ubud. Her father, Pak Gusti, is paraplegic following a fall from a coconut tree three years ago. He is currently confined to bed and becoming depressed. Our SoleNeeds programme has helped Pak Gusti with a reclining wheelchair and remodelling the door allowing him to have access to the terrace, thanks to your generous support to our charity effort. Ayu’s mother needs to give constant care to the father. During her spare time, she sells “canang” (a Balinese offering) earning around 4 cents per day.

The current situation forces Ayu to be the breadwinner. She must work in a local laundry with earning less than $1 per day to support her family and cover the basic living cost.

We have decided to help Ayu and her family and therefore include her in our SoleBuddies programme. This will allow us to provide assistance to Ayu for an extended ongoing period of time so that Ayu will be able to enjoy her childhood, focus on her study and quit working.

Visitors to South Kuta Beach now have special privilege to enjoy exclusive discounts and offers directly from their smart phones with the launch of South Kuta Passport. Designed as a user-friendly mobile application, the South Kuta Passport is ready and free to download at the Google Playstore and Apple Store.

Upon installation, users will have to complete their profile and scan a verification code. The unique verification code is available at each hotel where they are staying. Once the registration is complete, the guests can flip through the available offers and hot deals and instantly redeem them at the dedicated outlets.

1st Bali International Dragon Boat Race & Festival

Vesak Day or Waisak is a holiday observed traditionally by Buddhists, marking the birth of Prince Siddharta Gautama. The date varies each year on the Gregorian calendar but usually coincides in April or May, and in June on leap years. Unique to Buddhists in Bali is that some rituals share slight resemblance to Balinese Hindu features, such as in the use of temple ornaments.

High Flyers Bali offers a unique opportunity to experience the exhilaration of flying trapeze and circus workshop under tropical blue skies while visiting this island paradise.

High Flyers Bali offers trapeze classes six days per week and teaches flyers between the ages of 5 and 65 so all the family can join and make it a holiday you will never forget. With each class, a flyer achieves more tricks and develops more skills to include catches and somersaults. We currently have special promotion for Dynasty Rewards member where you can redeem your stay for half points! Pay for a minimum of 3 nights, and then redeem your additional nights at 50% off the normal point redemption rate.

For example, the normal redemption value for a deluxe room is 3,000 points however during this promotion period a night in the deluxe room can be redeemed at only 1,500 points on the 4th night or more.

This promotion applies to stays between 1st May to 31st May 2016 and 1st August to 31st August 2016.

The free extra night(s) only applies to the fourth consecutive night of the same redeemed stay. Please be reminded that no refunds or credits for unused portions of fourth Night Free redemptions.

Lalu Junaedi – Prime Plaza Employee of the Year 2015 (Back of the House)
Bali Dynasty Resort’s Employee of the Year 2015: Lalu Junaedi was awarded a title as Prime Plaza Employee of the Year 2015 from Back of the House. He won the title after competing with other candidates from Prime Plaza’s properties in Indonesia. The inauguration was held at Bali Dynasty Resort on Tuesday evening, 26th of April 2016. When asked about his feeling, Juna said that he “felt thrilled and extremely grateful for the achievement”. He wished that his achievement would inspire other staff to do their best in providing the utmost service to the guests. We couldn’t agree more. Congratulations Juna, you made us proud!

I Wayan Wirya
Joined Bali Dynasty Resort in 2011, Wayan is a team member of Kitchen Department as a steward. He won the title Employee of the Month from Heart of the House. He enjoys working at the Bali Dynasty Resort and willing to provide any assistance to his team when necessary. A father of two, Wayan spend most of his spare time with the family when he is not at work.
