The Crabs are Crawling until December!

Charity Update - How to Support?

One of Bali’s impoverished communities was in Ban Village, East Bali. Most of the remote village’s residents were very poor and lacked education, access to clean water and didn't even have electricity. The soil was dry and infertile. Children were not given proper education.

In 2000, the Bali Dynasty Resort began to sponsor the education project and community empowerment with East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP). For fifteen years, this initiative has given hope to hundreds of children and the community, thank to the generosity of our guests.

To aid our charity fundraising effort, we have taken the liberty of adding USD 2 to your bill on check out. This is not obligatory; so should you wish for this to be removed, please advise our Reception staff upon check out.

You can still make donations by participating in Gracie Kelly’s Quiz Nights every Tuesday at 7.30pm and Thursday at 8.30pm, or by cash donations in our charity boxes or when you purchase Bali Dynasty merchandise, a percentage of the profit goes to our charity effort.

Until the end of December, you are able to support our charity project by purchasing paintings in an exhibition at Café Piazza. These paintings are the work of Lias, a previous EBPP student who soon will earn his Bachelor degree.

Garuda Opens Denpasar - Guangzhou Route

Garuda Indonesia has opened a new route linking Denpasar (Bali) and Guangzhou (China) with the first inaugural flight taking off on Sunday, 22nd November 2015. This route will fly three roundtrip flights per week, departing from Bali on Tuesday, Fridays, and Sundays and returning from Guangzhou on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays.

A Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, configured to accommodate twelve business class passengers and one hundred and fifty economy class passengers, will service the new route.

Soekarno Museum & Library Finally Opens in Bali

Soekarno Museum & Library - a museum dedicated to the early history of Indonesia through the legacy of Soekarno, Indonesia’s first president, was inaugurated on 22 November by Megawati Soekarnoputri, Indonesia’s fifth president and Soekarno’s daughter.

Located on Jalan Raya Puputan in Denpasar, the museum has on display significant artefacts such as books, documents, significant speeches, photographs and even the former President’s bed. A total of 1,450,000 books are kept in the library, all of which are original and none are reproductions.

The museum is set to attract cultural tourists who are interested in Indonesia’s struggle for independence and the contentious time Sukarno reigned as President.

Pagerwesi, 2 December 2015

Pagerwesi is the day when the Balinese strengthen their minds and souls against evil forces. Etymologically Pagerwesi derives from the two Balinese words “pager” and “wesi”, which means fence and iron respectively. The iron fence is a symbol of strong self-protection and on Pagerwesi the Balinese focuses on building a strong personal fortification to ensure that evil doesn't enter their minds, speech and deeds.

In many regions in Bali, Pagerwesi is considered to be a really important holiday which is celebrated excessively in a similar fashion to Galungan Day.

Tumpek Landep, 12 December 2015

Tumpek Landep is a day in which homage is paid to items made from steel, silver, bronze, copper and other metals. In addition to these items, other metal objects such as modern machinery, automobiles and such, are also blessed in hope to the better use in daily life.

On this day you'll see cars and motorcycles decorated with intricate stitched-leaf ornaments called 'sampian' roaming the streets in Bali.

Every month we hold our staff gathering, where we recognise our star performers, celebrate our staff birthdays and present an update on new hotel products and services. Here are our winners for September 2015, these staff members have excelled in their duties and the services offered to our guests.

I Ketut Suwitera, our Housekeeping Assistant from Housekeeping Department won the title as Employee of the Month from Front of the House. He joined with us in 1991 and over the years has shown his commitment to provide clean and comfortable rooms for our guests in the resort.

I Ketut Winata, from Housekeeping Department won the title as Employee of the Month from Heart of the House. A father of 2, he enjoys tending to the resort’s lush garden and blossoming plants since 1991.

I Gusti Agung Ngurah Suarbawa, also from Housekeeping Department, won the Employee of the House as Guest Nominee. A skilled Housekeeping Assistant, he enjoys giving the PRIME service to ensure that everyone will have the utmost experience in staying at the resort.
