We treat our guest feedback very seriously with our "Tell Me!" programme and not only are your comments and suggestions discussed at regular mnanagement meetings, but your ratings are entered into a database whereby each and every area gets scored upon. This enables us to highlight those areas that are more or less popular and make the necessary changes to increase the ratings.

The feedback is important so that not only the management get an good indication of what is needed to be improved in the way of day to day services, but it is also a tool for us to plan for the future major projects where more capital investment is needed.

Bali Dynasty King & Queen!

Many thanks to Honeymooners Natalie and Cheyne from Perth who were recently staying with us.
While here they agreed to represent Bali Dynasty in a contest that was held on the 28th of August 2005 to choose the King & Queen 2005 of Tourism Awards.
Guests pariticipated from Santika Hotel, White Rose, Discovery Kartika Plaza, and Bali Rani.
Natalie and Cheyne, dressed in traditional Balinese Bridal costumes, came away with 3rd Prize.
It was a memorable and unforgettable experience and it felt like we were having a second wedding in Bali. Natalie could not believe that we were up on the stage parading in front of hundreds of spectators, said Cheyne.
Thanks for being such good sports, Natalie and Cheyne.

Security still given top pritority
It is now a fact of life that terrorism can strike anywhere in the world at any time, therefore the Bali Dynasty Resort has strict security procedures that have to be adhered to in order to ensure the best possible practices of safety for our guests and our staff. We do this by following the practices shown below. Boom Gate& Main Entrance 1. We have restricted vehicle access into the inner compound/Lobby of the hotel with a boom gate security post. All vehicles are stopped and registrations are recorded and logged and passengers questioned as to what is their business. 2. The Main entrance is restricted to one point. 3. Thorough car checking. Motorcycles and cars are checked, with cars being checked inside and underneath with a mirror. Metal detectors are used inside the car including glove compartments and under the seats, vehicle trunks are opened. These checks operate around the clock. 4. Physical and visual checks using Security inspection devices. 5. CCTV cameras are installed at various areas monitoring all visitors activities including all cars entering the premises. 6. All visitors, non guests and contractors must sign in and out of the hotel. 7. We monitor closely our beach access by a security post; The gate has strict opening and closing times and is locked at night 8. To hold regular briefings with senior management, security and rank and file staff to raise awareness of potential terrorism threats 9. No cars allowed to loiter within close proximity to buildings, particularly pick-up drivers and taxis.
Lobby Entrance: 1. No unaccompanied bags or boxes can be left unattended. 2. Luggage screening for all arriving guests with metal detectors. 3. All luggage kept in luggage room must have complete identity: Owner, address, Content, Contact person tag attached to it.

Charity Up-date
Charity Update
As East Bali Poverty Project celebrated its' 7th Anniversary on Indonesian Independence day on August 17th. Representatives form the resort visited the Childrens celebrations. A usually inhospitable dry and wide valley riverbed between Mounts Agung and Abang was transformed to an oasis in the desert for East Bali Poverty Projects (EBPP) annual celebrations of Indonesian Independence Day on the 17th of August: Members of EBPP made a full sports track, built a professional stage complete with changing room and toilet and covered areas for the hundreds of guests. Months of hard work by EBPP field teams, heats, training and rehearsals for the childrens varied activities culminated in a truly remarkable display of sports competitions, Balinese dance, skilful drama productions, poetry and comedy, entertaining hundreds of local people including us at Bali Dynasty Resort (sponsors since 2000 for education programmes) and what an exceptional day it was. As the sun rose over Mount Abang, EBPPs 250 children formed a huge circle in the steep sided valley, munching apples and eating honey sandwiches, launching the events to celebrate Indonesias 60th Independence Day. Highlight of the day was a sketch in English called Because of you by Maria Yenny dedicated to everyone who have helped the childrenincluding you!
Because of you by Maria Yenny (aged 15)
When the Sun was hidden behind a cloud You came with a candle in your hand To shine upon a dark place in my soul
When you came I saw sunshine Radiating, born in your blue eyes The shine is a ray of spirit Created by loving
You came to change my world And take me to the real life You came to embrace us, like arms of the sea That always open for all rivers
Because of you, I can read and write Because of you, I can know the world Because of you, I can stand here Because of you, we believe in love
Needless to say, we all cried!

Cultural Update
MUDIK - THE HOME SWEET HOME LEBARAN TRADITION
The Ramadhan period is shortly upon us. The end of the fasting month is called Lebaran or Idul fitri whereby there is a mass exodus by the population to return to their home towns and celebrate the end of the fasting month along with their families and relatives. After fasting for the whole month in Ramadhan (this is the way they call the month to welcome Lebaran), there will be a big gift for every Muslim. Lebaran is a gift where all Muslims forgive each others faults.
One of the celebrations of Lebaran is Mudik. Mudik it is the nick-name for the exodus tradition to the homeland where Muslims will celebrate the Lebaran with their families, relatives and friends. In order to reunite parents and families, millions of migrants from big cities make a long queues for train and bus tickets, jump in to any overloaded transportation vehicles they can find and get stuck for hours in traffic jams. For them all the pain and inconvenience is nothing but a small hazard of the home-sweet-home journey. The home-made Chicken Curry and Ketupat, is the most favorite and the must-cook dish for Lebaran. After they pray together with their family members, they then visit other relatives or friends, going from house to house to forgive each others faults. Muslim families sometimes celebrate Lebaran with an Open-House tradition, in this way they will let poor people, or the less fortunate, to come to their house and give them a gift or give them food.
