Experience The Tranquility at Bali Dynasty Resort
13 March 2024
One day before the Day of Silence, guests at Bali Dynasty have a special chance to participate in a unique ceremony. They carry the hotel's small Ogoh Ogoh (Paper Mache Statue) from the front of the hotel to the beach for a ceremonial burning of the statue.
Dressed in traditional sarongs and headbands, each guest will be equipped with a traditional Arak Attack, an instrument or a kitchen utensil to make as much noise as possible. The aim is to scare away any bad spirits. The Ogoh Ogoh is lifted high and paraded to the beach, where it will be burned in a spectacular display, met with applause from the crowd.
The Bali Dynasty staff and management join in this procession, considering the hotel cleansed of evil spirits in honor of Nyepi Day. On the Day of Silence on Monday, 11th March 2024, the Balinese observe Catur Brata Penyepian, involving the four fundamental prohibitions: Amati Karya (no work), Amati Geni (no fire, light, or electricity), Amati Lelungan (no traveling), and Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment). This creates a truly peaceful atmosphere."
The Balinese day of silence has the primary objective of purifying both human nature and the universe. Balinese believe it is a day of purification, contributing to a sense of serenity in the community
