Bali Dynasty Resort Received Platinum II and PR Simpatik in 2017 Tri Hita Karana Awards
01 December 2017
Tuban, 1 December 2017 – Bali Dynasty Resort was recently awarded with Platinum II Medal during 2017 Tri Hita Karana (THK) Awards & Accreditation in Denpasar, Bali. The award was given in recognition of its significant achievements in incorporating sustainable spiritual, social and environmental principles and practices to business. Last year, the Resort also received Platinum Medal.
Bali Dynasty Resort’s Public Relations Manager – Gede Agus Mahardana also won PR Simpatik 2017 for Manager Level, an award dedicated to public relations practitioners in hospitality industry for their contribution in advocating Tri Hita Karana philosophy in their business internally and externally.
Tri Hita Karana is a traditional life philosophy of Balinese community to accomplish secular and spiritual bliss through the harmonious relationship amongst human (‘pawongan’), and between humans and God (‘parahyangan’) and environment (‘palemahan’). The awards were initiated in 2000 to recognise hospitality operators for adopting this local value in their operation. Four years later the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UN-WTO) endorsed the awards. The awards also gained further support when in 2010 the philosophy became part of the Bali Clean and Green roadmap.
The Bali Dynasty Resort has implemented the Tri Hita Karana principles in its business practices and policy in keeping with the local cultural and spiritual beliefs and trying to make a difference to those less fortunate who have not benefitted from the tourism on the island. Since 2016, Bali Dynasty Resort has been reaching out to the less fortunate people in Bali through a charity project called “Help Friends for Life” in partnership with Solemen. To date, Bali Dynasty Resort has raised in excess of IDR 410 million (over USD 30,000) to support many SoleBuddies with their ongoing long-term care and education, while at the same time helping many individuals with one-off donations, such as wheelchairs, prosthetic legs and medical treatment. On the environment side, the resort is committed to operate at a high environmental standard, organising a monthly and annual general clean up programme with its staff, taking effort to grow and nurture rare plants in its garden and working closely with the ‘banjar’ (Balinese local community) to create a green, clean and safe environment for the comfort of the guests.
