Prime Plaza’s Anniversary Celebration at Bali Dynasty Resort

Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts has reached an exciting milestone this April as the company celebrates 15 years of delivering the signature of Indonesian hospitality to international customers in Indonesia.

The Indonesian hotel operator has grown from managing four properties when it was established on the 1st of April 2003, to managing thirteen properties in key locations in Bali, Java and Sumatera to date with 2,053 rooms in total. The company plans to add more flagships to its portfolio by 2020, with new hotels to open in Samarinda and Batu – Malang.

For the past 15 years, Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts has thrived to provide leisure, business and meeting facilities of the highest quality through its three brands to match the varies needs of the today’s travellers.

The celebration of Prime Plaza’s 15th year anniversary was organised on the 2nd of April 2018 by Bali Dynasty Resort, which was attended by the Management and the resort’s loyal guests, many of whom have become returning customers for years.

Bali Dynasty wins Prime Plaza’s Supervisor of the Year Award

Prime Plaza Hotels & Resorts recently rewarded their top performing staff during the annual Prime Plaza Supervisor and Employee of the Year Award ceremony held at Prime Plaza Hotel Purwakartaon 9 and 10 April 2018. Competing against candidates from Prime Plaza’s properties in Java and Bali, Bali Dynasty Resort’s representative Ketut Suwarta won the title of ‘Supervisor of the Year 2017’.

Suwarta, the Bar Manager at Bali Dynasty Resort, is a popular figure in the Food & Beverages Department. He has consistently delivered excellent service and is responsible for managing the operation of the Resort’s 5 bars. Suwarta was nominated by his colleague to become Supervisor of the Quarter in 2017, which led him to become Bali Dynasty’s Supervisor of the Year 2017, and successfully won the Prime Plaza’s Supervisor of the Year.

This achievement further emphasises that the Resort’s employees have consistently delivered genuine and exceptional service to all guests, which has become the signature of Bali Dynasty Resort.

Charity Update

Bali Dynasty Resort’s Team Planted Trees on Mt Batur

Early in April, the Management of Bali Dynasty Resort went on some team building activities. Included in the itinerary was a visit to the Mount Batur caldera to plant some Eucalyptus trees in our effort to contribute to a greener environment.

The caldera of Mount Batur is considered as critical by the Bali government due to the majority of the land in this area is covered by the solid hard lava, rocks and sand from the Batur volcano eruption in the past. Because of this, only a few vegetations can grow in this area.

Bali Dynasty Resort is a recipient of Platinum II Medal in Tri Hita Karana Awards 2017.

Malindo to Fly Direct to Bali from Melbourne

Malindo Air will be on the radar of many more Aussie travellers when it launches new daily services to Bali from Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport. The Malaysian airline will start daily runs between Melbourne and Denpasar from 8 June 2018. According to Skyscanner data, Malindo is currently offering the cheapest direct return flights between Melbourne and Denpasar at $530.

Malindo Air, which has hubs in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, is a full-service carrier that launched flights in 2013. It already flies from Brisbane and Perth.

Bali Blues Festival

The Bali Blues Festival is a standalone part of the annual Nusa Dua Fiesta’s agenda. It features great local and national jazz and blues bands. Those who performed in the past include Gugun Blues Shelter (featuring Indonesian Jazz musician Indra Lesmana), The Six Strings, Krakatau Reunion, Balinese band Cazy Horse, Balinese tapping guitarist Wayan Balawan, and Indonesian musician Gilang Ramadhan.

If you are a truly jazz or blues lover, this festival should be missed. Scheduled on 11 – 12 May 2018, the event will be at Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, around 30 minutes from Bali Dynasty Resort.

Galungan & Kuningan

An auspicious celebration is coming to the Island of Gods as the Balinese celebrate Galungan and Kuningan – the most important Balinese Hindu holiday. Galungan is a Balinese holiday that signifies the victory of Virtue (Dharma) over Evil (Adharma). This important festival occurs every 210 days. It will begin this year on Wednesday, 30 May and will last for 10 days. During this time, the Balinese gods and ancestral spirits descend to Earth to be honoured. They will leave on Kuningan, which is the final day of the holiday, on 9 June 2018.

Before the days of Galungan and Kuningan, Hindu people in Bali will be very busy preparing the religious ceremonial offerings and Bali's streets will be adorned with bright and colourful ‘penjor’ bamboo poles for the entire period between Galungan and Kuningan

Tour of the Month – A Great Day Out with Mason Adventures

Previously known as Bali Adventure Tours, Mason Adventures is one of Bali’s best tour operators. In 2017, the company launched its latest tourism activity called Jungle Buggy. Both models also boast certified roll cages, three point seatbelts, and safety nets to help ensure safety during the exhilarating jungle drive.

The track, which has been meticulously designed by Nigel Mason, the company’s founder, spans 4.5 km in one lap across the dirt and gravel track through Bali’s tropical forest. One Jungle Buggy trip consists of a minimum 2 laps and will begin and finish at the new Koko Bambu Restaurant. After the trip, guests will be treated to a delicious set menu lunch overlooking Bali’s dense tropical woods, which can be enjoyed from the dining table or from the infinity pool. Once you’re done, head over to visit the new Mason Gourmet Chocolate Factory & Showroom where you can learn the science between each chocolate variation and indulge in chocolate tasting as well as chocolate cocktails.

Another piece of exciting news is that guests can combine this Jungle Buggy tour with other popular activities offered by Mason Adventures, such as white water rafting, the elephant safari ride, bicycling, and more, thanks to the various locations, which are close to one another.
