International Culinary Competition “Lacuisine” in Jakarta, We Won 10 Medals!

We proudly announce our outstanding achievement at the recent International Culinary Competition in Jakarta, where chefs from around the world gathered for an extraordinary showcase of skill and creativity.

This year’s competition brought together chefs from seven nations, offering a true melting pot of flavours and cultural diversity. Nearly 1,000 competitors—ranging from aspiring chefs to seasoned culinary artists—displayed their talents in pursuit of recognition and prestige. Judged by a panel of 90 distinguished experts, including World chefs-certified authorities and Indonesia’s top culinary professionals, the event was a celebration of excellence and innovation in the culinary arts.

Representing Bali Dynasty Resort, a five-person team competed individually, earning an impressive total of 10 medals, including: 8 Bronze Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 2 Diplomas. Three chefs earned two medals each, while two chefs achieved an extraordinary feat of earning three medals each. The talented individuals representing Bali Dynasty Resort were: Putu Agus Tresnandana, Dewa Gede Sumartika, I Gusti Made Nova Sanjaya, I Made Upadana, and I Ketut Andy Sanjaya.

"This achievement is a testament to our chefs' dedication, talent, and passion for the culinary art, and provide a platform and opportunity for the culinary team to compete in the international stage," said Wira Adi Putra as Head Chef of Bali Dynasty Resort. "We are incredibly proud of their hard work and success on this international stage."

Opening Soon – “Sky Padel Kuta” at The Bali Dynasty Resort

We are excited to announce the opening of ‘Sky Padel’, a brand-new facility located on the rooftop of Gracie Kelly’s in South Kuta. This will be the only Padel court in South Kuta, offering a truly unique experience.

Padel, one of the fastest-growing sports globally, it’s a fun and dynamic game that blends elements of tennis and squash. Played in teams of two, it is a sociable and relaxing sport, making it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned player, or trying Padel for the first time, ‘Sky Padel Kuta’ promises a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM, ‘Sky Padel Kuta’ is perfect for a match with friends or a fun family activity. The facility is not only for resort guests but also open to visitors living in Bali, inviting everyone to join the padel community.

Balinese Dance Class

Join us every Tuesday at 11 AM at the Kids' Club for a special Balinese Dance class where your children can experience the rich cultural traditions of Bali through dance. This class offers a fun and educational experience, giving kids an opportunity to learn traditional Balinese movements, and gain an understanding of the island’s unique cultural heritage.

The class is designed to be engaging and suitable for all children, providing them with the opportunity to experience a beautiful aspect of Balinese culture. Please note that advance bookings are required to secure a spot in the class.

Charity Update

Bali Children’s Project

Support – Avrille Laura’s Education

Avrille Laura, often called Laura, is a 17-year-old only child from Penebel, Tabanan. In her final year at a vocational high school specialising in tourism, she is studying Culinary Arts, aspiring to become a chef and explore opportunities in the tourism industry, possibly overseas.

Raised by her elderly grandparents since she was young, Laura now faces financial difficulties with her education. Her grandfather’s declining health has stopped him from weaving baskets, and her grandmother remains bedridden after an accident. These challenges have left Laura struggling with school debts, putting her at risk of dropping out yet again. With two years remaining until she graduates in June 2025, Laura dreams of completing her studies to support her grandparents and secure a brighter future.

Through our charity program, we are proud to sponsor Laura this month. We hope this assistance alleviates her financial burdens, allowing her to continue her education and follow her passion for Culinary Arts.

Support – Putu Agus’s Education

Seventeen-year-old Agus is in his final year of senior high school in Karangasem, with eight months left until his planned graduation in June. As the eldest of three, he lives with his younger siblings and mother, who struggles financially after his father’s passing in January. Putu has fallen six months behind on school fees due to these challenges.

Putu’s mother earns little from raising livestock owned by others, and Putu helps by foraging feed, often traveling far during the dry season. His favourite subject is English, as he hopes to work in a hotel and help lift his family out of poverty. Though he has become more reserved since his father’s passing, Putu is determined to be strong for his family.

Through our charity program, we’re pleased to support Agus’s education this month, aiming to help Putu’s family through this difficult time.

Mohiya is committed to offering vital food and medical assistance to those in need, including underprivileged individuals, the elderly, the ill, and orphans. They also strive to ensure that children throughout Bali and Indonesia have access to education. Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bali Dynasty Resort, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! Traveling with our two 4.5-year-old girls, we were thrilled to find that the resort offered a plethora of activities that kept them entertained throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special thank you to the incredible staff who went above and beyond during our visit. They not only checked on my husband's tattoo healing but also helped us plan a delightful treasure hunt for my husband’s birthday, which added an extra layer of fun to our holiday! The resort's facilities are impressive, with multiple pools, Kids Club, and fun activities that cater specifically to younger guests. Our girls loved the water slides and the children's play areas, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were safe and happy. One of the best aspects of our stay was that we didn't need to leave the hotel at all. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The on-site dining options were delicious, offering a variety of cuisines that suited our family's tastes. Plus, for any essentials, we found that necessary shops like a chemist and Circle K were conveniently within walking distance, making it easy to grab anything we might have needed. Overall, our experience at Bali Dynasty Resort was nothing short of wonderful. It’s a perfect destination for families looking to relax and enjoy quality time together. Just spent 5 amazing days at this resort and it exceeded my expectations. Due to unrelated issues, we had little option but to have some of our holiday here and I wasn't sold at first, but this resort is perfect for families and in particular young children. The staff are outstanding - they are attentive, understanding of your needs, and genuinely friendly. The service at meal times is great, The pool staff go to great lengths to ensure everyone can have equal enjoyment of the pools, making sure that older teenagers aren't monopolising a space, or littler ones are safe with a family member to supervise them. Children can play and have fun. The attention to detail is great - linen table clothes and napkins over paper napkins, splitting the resort among the dining locations for Breakfast means not everyone is piling into the same location at the same time. There is strictly no smoking around the communal areas - so you aren't trying to enjoy your Breakfast or lying by the pool while smelling smoke. The rooms are a little tired, but the room I was in was still clean and our aircon worked fine. (how much time are you really spending in a hotel room while on holiday?) The Kids Club was perfect, lots for the children to do and a couple of evenings a week they did a Movie Night. Children also got to eat for free or half price on the themed buffet evenings (which considering how little they eat was great value) The room we were in was at ground level, and we could walk out to the pool, all and any noise was all done with by 10pm and it was so quiet after that time. It’s a location I would definitely return to and recommend. - Emma Gardner
