Full Moon

The Balinese Full Moon, or Purnama, is a significant and sacred occasion in the Hindu calendar, celebrated with deep devotion by the Balinese people. Occurring once a month, typically every 29 or 30 days, it marks a time for spiritual reflection and connection with the god.

On this day, Hindus in Bali gather at temples to pray and offer prayers to Sang Hyang Widhi, for seeking blessings and guidance. The full moon is also dedicated to two important Manifestation of God: Sang Hyang Candra (the God of Moon) and Sang Hyang Ketu (the God of Destiny).

The Full Moon is also a time for personal purification. Seeking balance and harmony through prayer and the sprinkling of holy water or tirta. This powerful and peaceful celebration is a beautiful expression of Bali’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, fostering a sense of unity, gratitude, and connection to the God.

Supporting Tu Rika’s Education Journey

Sixteen-year-old Tu Rika, a grade 11 student from Bangli, dreams of working in Japan after completing her education. With 18 months remaining until her graduation in mid-2026, Rika is determined to succeed despite the challenges her family faces. As the eldest of two siblings, she has witnessed her parents struggle to make ends meet as field labourers, earning less than the minimum wage. Her parents’ sacrifices include taking out a loan to cover her school fees, which they are still repaying. Rika almost dropped out after junior high but convinced her parents to let her continue, inspired by villagers who transformed their lives through work opportunities in Japan. She now excels in her studies, focusing on Japanese language classes and participating in a Japanese club to prepare for her future goal. Beyond academics, Rika enjoys performing traditional Balinese dances at temple ceremonies and works part-time during school breaks to support her education. However, her family’s financial limits threaten to cut her journey short. Bali Dynasty Resort is helping her to finish her education, and you can be a part of this life-changing charity. Our stay at Bali Dynasty Resort (Dec 10-14, 2024) was amazing! The pool was the best – great for relaxing, and they even had a fun play area for kids to splash around in. Everything else was great too: clean rooms, comfy beds, tons of breakfast options, and a super convenient location near the malls ( Discovery & Lippo Mall). Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bali Dynasty Resort, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! Traveling with our two 4.5-year-old girls, we were thrilled to find that the resort offered a plethora of activities that kept them entertained throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. A special thank you to the incredible staff who went above and beyond during our visit. They not only checked on my husband's tattoo healing but also helped us plan a delightful treasure hunt for my husbands birthday , which added an extra layer of fun to our holiday! The resort's facilities are impressive, with multiple pools, kids' clubs, and fun activities that cater specifically to younger guests. Our girls loved the water slides and the children's play areas, and we felt completely at ease knowing they were safe and happy. One of the best aspects of our stay was that we didn't need to leave the hotel at all. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The on-site dining options were delicious, offering a variety of cuisines that suited our family's tastes. Plus, for any essentials, we found that necessary shops like a chemist and Circle K were conveniently within walking distance, making it easy to grab anything we might have needed. Overall, our experience at Bali Dynasty Resort was nothing short of wonderful.
