Kicking off March with a calendar packed with great events!
March at Bali Dynasty Resort starts with the biggest bash of the year on St. Patrick's Day, which is sure to be the biggest party of the year at Gracie Kelly’s, as it also coincides with Gracie Kelly's 6th Anniversary. Then, we start preparing for Bali’s Day of Silence, a significant Balinese ceremony taking place on Saturday, 29th March 2025. Also, stay tuned for some exciting updates to our property coming soon.
Firstly, let's talk about the grandest celebration – St. Patrick's Day on 17th March 2025 at Bali's original Irish pub, Gracie Kelly's. It is also an extra special day as we celebrate Gracie Kelly's 6th Anniversary. Prepare for an evening of festive atmosphere, with live music, fun games, delicious food, and, of course, Guinness on tap!
Nyepi Day in Bali falls on 29th March 2025. Traditionally, it’s a day when the Balinese fast and meditate and are not allowed to go outside their homes. The entire island will shut down, including the airport. No cars, no motorbikes, no street vendors, and no lights should be used. If you haven’t experienced Nyepi in Bali, we highly recommend it, as it is the most peaceful day, and you'll be treated to a night sky glittering with stars.
On the eve of Nyepi Day, you will see the Ogoh-Ogoh parade all around Bali, a vital part of the Ngerupuk procession. Ogoh-Ogoh are large, often fearsome effigies that represent Bhuta Kala, or evil spirits, symbolising negative energies, malevolent forces, and the darker aspects of human nature. The Ngerupuk procession is a purification ritual intended to cleanse the environment of these negative energies. This is the biggest parade in Bali and is held once a year. Make sure to plan your journey early to secure a prime spot to experience this amazing Balinese cultural event.
Looking ahead to next month, we are preparing for a special Easter Sunday on 20th April. So if you are planning to be in Bali, don’t miss it! We have planned a full day of special activities for the little ones, complete with a special Easter roast lunch. Make sure to book ahead to secure your spot.
We hope you enjoy reading our online newsletter. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube for more updates.

Experience The Tranquility at Bali Dynasty Resort
As Bali prepares to welcome the Balinese Caka New Year, a time of reflection and renewal, there’s no better way to embrace the occasion than with a peaceful escape. Picture yourself waking up to the gentle sounds of nature, enjoying a warm cup of coffee, and soaking in the island’s tranquil atmosphere.
To mark this special time, the resort is offering an exclusive package designed for fun and relaxation. Enjoy daily breakfast to start your mornings right, and on 29 March 2025, indulge in a special buffet dinner—bringing everyone together to welcome the transition into the new year.
Beyond relaxation, both kids and adults will be pleased to know that the Kupu-Kupu Kids’ Club and Kids' Water Fun Zone will be open, with a variety of exciting activities available for all ages. Whether you're lounging by the pool or unwinding in the comfort of your room, it's the perfect opportunity to slow down and recharge. Kids can enjoy fun activities throughout the day, while adults can take rest and relax knowing the kids are enjoying themselves.
The night before the New Year 28 March 2025, at 5 PM, the resort will host a lively Ogoh-Ogoh Parade. Watch as our towering Ogoh-Ogoh figure is paraded around the resort—a stunning showcase of Balinese artistry and tradition. Guests are also welcome to take part and help carry the Ogoh-Ogoh, making it a truly immersive cultural experience.
The Bali Dynasty staff and management join in this procession, considering the hotel cleansed of evil spirits in honor of Nyepi Day. On the Day of Silence on Saturday, 29th March 2025, the Balinese observe Catur Brata Penyepian, involving the four fundamental prohibitions: Amati Karya (no work), Amati Geni (no fire, light, or electricity), Amati Lelungan (no traveling), and Amati Lelanguan (no entertainment). This creates a truly peaceful atmosphere. The Balinese day of silence has the primary objective of purifying both human nature and the universe. Balinese believe it is a day of purification, contributing to a sense of serenity in the community

Best Place to Watch Ogoh-Ogoh (Paper Mache Statue) Parade
The day before Nyepi Day, known as Pengerupukan Day, is a special time in Bali. Hindus hold a ceremony called Mecaru to neutralise negative forces within society, families, and the community.
The Ogoh-Ogoh Parade is a lively and colourful spectacle you won’t want to miss if you’re in Bali during this period. In this write-up, we’ll explore the best places to experience the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali this year.
The parade typically begins in the evening, around 6 pm, and continues for several hours. Major towns and cities in Bali host the most impressive displays, featuring intricately crafted statues. Here are some top spots to watch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade this year:
Bali Dynasty Resort
Our resort presents a unique Ogoh-Ogoh Parade, leading guests through lush gardens, past the lobby, to the main road and towards the beach. Beginning at 5 pm from the Kertagosa room, the procession—led by our recreation team—creates a magical atmosphere with traditional Balinese instruments. Guests are welcome to join this enchanting parade for a cultural evening.
Denpasar
As Bali’s capital, Denpasar is one of the best locations to witness the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade. Major streets close to traffic, and the route comes alive with food stalls and souvenir vendors. Patung Catur Muka (Catur Muka Statue) near Lapangan Puputan Badung and the Bali Museum is an ideal vantage point to enjoy the vibrant festivities.
Ubud
As Bali’s cultural centre, Ubud hosts an impressive parade featuring giant puppets carried through the streets. The best place to witness the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Ubud is Peliatan Royal Palace, where the energy of the event truly comes to life.
Kuta
One of Bali’s busiest tourist hubs, Kuta, offers a dynamic parade with a beachside setting and lively crowds. Arrive at Kuta Beach before 6 pm to secure a prime viewing spot for the festivities.
Sanur
Despite its reputation as a quieter town, Sanur’s Ogoh-Ogoh Parade is a must-see. The procession winds through narrow streets and a four-junction road, creating an electric atmosphere. Given the crowd, staying hydrated is essential—bring a bottle of mineral water to keep refreshed.
Jimbaran
Famous for its seafood restaurants, Jimbaran is also an excellent location to witness the parade. The route along the main beach road offers a breathtaking sunset view, making for a spectacular backdrop to the pre Nyepi Day celebration.
No matter where you choose to experience the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Bali this year, it promises to be a vibrant display of colour and culture. Arrive before 6 pm to secure a good viewing spot, and don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the magic of this unique Balinese tradition.

Charity Update
Bali Children’s Project
Thank You for Supporting Tu Rika’s Education – Bali Children’s Project
Sixteen-year-old Tu Rika, a grade 11 student from Bangli, has faced many challenges in pursuing her education. As the eldest of two siblings, she has seen her parents struggle as field laborer’s, earning less than the minimum wage and even taking out a loan to cover her school fees.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to this sponsorship. Your generosity has given Tu Rika the opportunity to continue her studies and stay in school. We are truly grateful to be part of her journey toward a brighter future.
Supporting Ayu Liana’s Education - Bali Children’s Project
Ayu Liana, 16 years old, is a grade 11 student at a vocational high school in Gianyar, majoring in Hospitality. She is the eldest of four siblings who have been raised by their elderly grandparents after losing their father and being abandoned by their mother. Their grandparents, who only completed primary school, work as labourers and make offerings for sale to earn a small income. Ayu Liana almost dropped out of school after she completed her junior high. However, she pleaded with her grandparents to let her stay in school until she could graduate from senior high. Despite these struggles, Ayu Liana has remained committed to her education, knowing that it is her best chance to build a better future.
Determined to graduate, Ayu Liana dreams of working abroad to support her grandparents and younger siblings. However, with no financial resources left and her grandparents unable to take further loans, she is now at risk of dropping out. Ayu Liana is a bright and hardworking student who deserves the chance to complete her education and break free from the cycle of poverty. Let’s be a part of Bali Dynasty Resort charity and help Ayu Liana achieve her dreams.

We’re honoured to support Mohiya by including their handmade pouches as part of the Kids Gecko Passport gift options at Bali Dynasty Resort. Each purchase directly supports Mohiya’s initiatives, transforming children’s drawings into beautiful gifts that aid vulnerable families and children.
By choosing these pouches, you’re directly contributing to Mohiya’s programs, helping to provide crucial support for at-risk children and families. Picking these special items allows you to be part of a movement that brings real change to those who need it most.

Great place. Big rooms lot of activities for kids. Pool bar is the best. Best to book for 7 nights to get most out of the discounts and extra deals. Kids gaming 2 hours of session on Xbox or PlayStation which is great. In-house water activities spot on. We were there for 10 days and didn’t feel like going out of the hotel. Buffet fresh and delicious. Great chefs and Service staff 10/10. All your reception staff, bell boys, cleaning staff, pool staff, bar staff, massage staff, and hotel staff, I have No words to express my gratitude for the service and quality time we experienced. highly recommended. - Manpreet Kaur
My third visit & I still love this resort. There is something for everyone. Great for families. Good dining options. Good location. Friendly staff with outstanding customer service. - Karen Taylor
Love it. Have been there now 12 times and it just improves all the time. Awesome for kids but still great for adults. Will be back again next year. - Chris Chandler
Loved our stay at the resort, 5 nights. Location is great, just a short walk out of the resort to the right you have Lippo mall, on the left you have Discovery mall, and Waterbom. Many massage, hair service, circle k, laundry express. Room is clean, bed is nice comfortable. Staff is so cool, always smiling and helpful. - ngoc le
The hotel was lovely, the staff were amazing and the interactions with other guests were great. The pools and water slide was awesome for the kids. The location was excellent, close to some really great restaurants and bars. Would 100% recommend this as a place to stay – Dee R
Our stay at Bali Dynasty Resort in Kuta last October was nothing short of amazing! As a family of seven, finding a resort that caters to both kids and parents can be a challenge, but Bali Dynasty absolutely delivered. We stayed in two deluxe rooms (interconnecting). Mr. W, Perth
From the moment we arrived, the resort felt welcoming and family-friendly. The kids' club was a huge hit—our little ones were entertained for hours with fun activities while we enjoyed some downtime. The kids' pool and mini water park were perfect for splashing around, and having restaurants with everything we needed on-site made meals stress-free (a must when traveling with kids!). Ally, Brisbane
For us parents, the gym was small but had all the essentials, so we could still get a solid workout in while the kids hung out in the kids club. And after a day of chasing the kids, unwinding by the pool with a cocktail in hand was absolute bliss! Mrs. S Rogers
If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly resort in Bali with plenty to keep the kids entertained and everything you need in one place, Bali Dynasty Resort Kuta is a winner! We can’t wait to go back again this year – Natalie L
