We are proud to announce that the Bali Dynasty Resort has been voted No. 1 by Out & About with Kids’ in their annual Readers’ Choice Awards for the Best International Hotels & Resort for Families category. In addition, we also secured top place in the 2019 Holidays With Kids Readers’ Choice Awards in the Top 10 Best Family Resorts for Indonesia 4-Stars category. Both accolades further reinforce our popularity as a quality destination for families and leisure travellers.

These awards are organized annually by Out & About with Kids and Holiday with Kids, which are the popular Australian family holiday magazines with very strong online following. Award nominees and subsequent winners are garnered from a survey based on guests’ personal experiences. Bali Dynasty Resort is a premier property committed to anticipating the needs of families and leisure guests in the heart of South Kuta Beach. Each year, the resort makes notable improvements to ensure enhanced holiday experiences, while still offering the same great value for money. Recent upgrades include the relocation of Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub to a new-look venue on the street, the establishment of an exclusive Premier Lounge catering to late departure guests, and the launch of our brand-new Family Lagoon Pool Access Rooms with a direct access to a 109m lagoon pool. In addition, all Executive Suites have been refurbished with style and comfort in mind. To date, almost every part of the resort has been renewed, making it the perfect home away from home for international travellers.

Both achievements stand to emphasize Bali Dynasty Resort’s status as a consistent and quality option in the family travel market. Charity Updates

With the support from our loyal guests and their generous donations, Bali Dynasty Resort has been able to establish and sponsor the Bali Dynasty Resort Care & Recovery Centre. This care facility replicates a nurturing home environment that provides the necessary assistance and resources required to keep families together before, during, and after medical treatment. With the centre now open and being operated by Solemen Indonesia, a non-profit charity foundation, Bali Dynasty Resort is focusing its efforts to cover expenses for a number of Sole Buddies who are currently in residence.

Yudi and Hendra

Yudi is a brave 10-year-old boy from Karangasem who suffers from Epidermolysis Bulosa. He has two brothers also diagnosed with this same condition, one who sadly passed away 18 months ago. Now, Yudi and his remaining brother, Hendra, who is only 10 months old, must attend monthly check-ups at Sanglah Hospital. At the moment, Yudi is hospitalized due to low haemoglobin levels. Yudi and Hendra need a monthly donation to cover their medication and medical check-ups. Solemen requires IDR 1.75 million per month for their ongoing treatment and medication.

Ketut Widiasa

Ketut Widiasa is a courageous 5-year-oldboy from Buleleng, who is suffering from a heart condition and only just had his first health assessment last week. He is an adorable young boy who loves to hug a lot. As he is severely underweight for his age, he needs nutritious food and vitamins. Doctors also suspect that he has a leak in his heart and this is a contributing factor to his abnormal heart rate. Ketut’s body is currently very weak and to help him regain some strength, he also needs ongoing therapy. Solemen requires IDR 1,75 million per month to cover his treatment and vitamins.

Help us reach even more individuals in need by participating in our twice-a-week Quiz Night every Tuesday at 7.30pm and Thursday at 8.45pm in the newly relocated Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub. We regularly raise funds through bingo games, village walks and by selling cute SoleTeddy bears. There is also our 2-dollar upon check-out program or the option to drop your spare coins in the charity boxes placed all around the resort. Every little bit counts! Visit here for more details.

Vietnam Airlines to Open New Bali & Phuket Routes

Starting from 27th October 2019, two of Southeast Asia’s most popular destinations will benefit from increased flight connectivity to Vietnam, courtesy of the nation’s flag carrier. Vietnam Airlines will launch direct flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) with Bali, Indonesia, and Phuket, Thailand.

“Apart from offering new, exciting non-stop services, these routes also facilitate international travellers from Europe, Japan, South Korea and many other parts of the world to easily access famous destinations like Bali and Phuket via Vietnam Airlines’ connecting flights,” said Le Hong Ha, who is the Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines.

As part of the new schedule, Bali will welcome five flights per week, departing from Saigon at 11.10 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight from Bali will depart at 4.50 pm. Depending on the success of this route, Vietnam Airlines intends to extend the frequency to a daily schedule by the end of March 2020.

The new flights to Phuket are the airline’s third route into the Land of Smiles. Departing from Saigon at 3.50 pm every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, the return flight from Phuket will depart at 6.40 pm local time. Like the Bali route, Vietnam Airlines intends to extend the frequency of the Phuket route to a daily service by the end of March 2020. Both of the new routes will be serviced by Airbus A321 aircraft.

Vietnam Airlines has been running daily flights between Saigon and Jakarta since December 2012. As part of the new flight schedules, the airline confirmed it will also resume its Danang – Bangkok service on 27 October 2019, departing daily from Danang at 3.20 pm and from Bangkok at 6.00 pm. Generally, the swim portion of the race begins at sunrise followed by the bike sprint and a road race through the streets of Bali’s sleepy villages. There are categories for both men and women, individual and team relay races. Tumpek Wayang

Tumpek Wayang is a traditional Balinese holiday and sacred festival of Hindus on the island which is celebrated every 6 months. This festival brings together talented puppeteers who perform purification rites (ruwatan) to cleanse their bodies both physically and mentally. Another reason why Tumpek Wayang is important for the locals is that it represents various transitions on the traditional calendar, and is a connection between the following days: Saniscara, Kajeng, Kilown and Wayang. As a transitional point, this holiday plays a sacred role for locals. Another key aspect of these celebrations that make the day so special is that devout Balinese celebrate the day as one that marks the birth of the Lord Kala. Local mythology hints that the birth of Kala may have been the result of unplanned intercourse between Shiva god and Uma goddess, although it is important to note that there are several variations to this mythology. These variations, however, all point to the coming together of Shiva and Uma, which is why each celebration involves purification rites followed by the signature puppet show. This show is staged at the different temples, and is titled ‘Sapuh Leger’.Whenever you are in Bali during Tumpek Wayang, look out for the puppet shows staged at different locations. Interact with the locals to learn a thing or two about their culture. This year, Tumpek Wayang will be held on the 16th of November 2019. For more information visit: www.balitravelhub.com.

Guest Feedback

Our room attendant was very good, greeting us the morning and the surprise for my wife’s birthday cake on the bed and returning to the room looked excellent. Ashvin UK

The nanny I hired was perfect. My daughter had no problem going with her from the second they met. I would recommend her to everyone. Perfect for families, couples, everyone. The only suggestion would be that there need to be a shade over the playground. Jenna AUSTRALIA

Our recent stay at the Bali Dynasty was great fun. I have 3 kids aged 14, 12, and 6 and we all had a fun and relaxing holiday. It's not a long drive from the airport which is so nice when you want to get there quick and start your holiday without too much travel. We've stayed at the Dynasty twice, 11 years apart, and it's great to see how they have updated and maintained the property. Management and staff clearly work hard to keep the resort clean, safe, and fun. Also a great location with lots of restaurants and shops a quick walk away. Staff are lovely to interact with. Always friendly, always smiling. kdedsall THAILAND

All of the staff by the kids pool were amazing. They remembered my children’s name and laughed and joked with the all day long. It made the experience very special for them. Zakary AUSTRALIA
